Three Points Away...

It was a VERY average, workman-like performance from us, with little final third creativity & profligate finishing making for a nervous final 30 minutes where Bournemouth could've had a couple.

Haaland's form has been patchy since his return & we're badly missing Mahrez out wide. His creativity, ball retention & goals have been sorely missed this season & today it told.

Foden took his rebound goal very well & it seemed to settle us down into a controlling rhythm, but we just didn't seem able to raise our game a level to get a second & give us a cushion, but up to halftime we were still pretty comfortable.

In the second half Bournemouth came at us & raised their physical levels to a point where we were struggling to match them. Semenyo caused us constant problems & gave Aké a proper match.

Stones looks to be back on top form & Akanji played very well at right back & in midfield. Rodri kept the midfield together & Kovacic ably supported him as a double pivot.

My MoTM was Foden, not just for his goal, but because he was the only source of creativity around the Bournemouth box for us. We're not in good form & are finding goal scoring more difficult than we're used to.

We did what we needed to do, but we've gotta rediscover our form for ManUre who'll arrive at the Etihad with Berrada & a point to prove.

Over to you lads. The supporters can only do so much, but to be honest we've also gotta step up our game after quiet crowds at our last two home games.

The Dippers & ArseAnal aren't going anywhere & are scoring for fun. We're in a proper title battle & the squad & crowd have got to massively up our collective game.

No way Ray, we murdered Forest and should have won easily. Today we were all over the place 2nd half
Honesty it was similar type of performances. We were at times sloppy in both games. This time we got the 3 points which at this stage of the season is vital.

Lucky to get the three points tonight and more broadly we’re lucky to be only one point off the top as we are not playing well at all.

We look two or three levels away from our best and for me there are big questions hanging over the team with regard to the balance in midfield and around two or three key positions, particularly on both the wings.

Big players who are underperforming will need to step it up and although we’re certainly capable of doing it, the sort of lethargic, complacent performance we got in the second half tonight has happened far too often to just shrug it off as a blip.

On the plus side we defended better - Akanji played well again - and Foden looked fantastic today, but we really need to improve significantly over the next couple of weeks.
I agree and we should have been one nil up within 10 minutes, that would have set us up nicely, I think.

A good win, but not a good performance overall. We were excellent in the first half without getting an extra goal which we deserved. We were very sloppy at times in that 2nd half and rode our luck at times.

We looked tired and Bournemouth breaking from midfield had us panicking a few times. Stones had a blinder, what a player.

Didn’t understand the late subs. When we need control, Doku is not the answer. However, 3 points gained, but we need to improve all over the pitch.

Horrivle news but he had been ill for sometime
I'm mates with his son and he told me 2 weeks ago his legs had gone(which is very late stages) and he didn't have long left. Just didn't realise it'd be so soon. I'm just glad he's rid ot that shit house disease now. Terrible X

Was a good 3 pts, let's see where we are when we play better sides than Bournemouth
