Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

A defeat is always painful but I think I'll get over this one quicker than usual because we didn't deserve to get anything out of the game.

I think we have a problem with burn out as so many players are nowhere near at it. That's understandable as the physical and emotional toll of the last few amazing seasons has left most unable to go again in my view. Maybe it can be turned around but if not we see what comes next.

Had chances late on to claw back a point, but that wouldn't have been deserved. Bournemouth battered us at times and were well worth the 3 points.

We were shite. Looked bereft of ideas, slow as fuck, and knackered.

I'm not being a "happy camper" I'm being a realist...

We've had it good for the last 13 years or so, Especially the last 4 years have been beyond what we ever imagined. The last four years of fighting until the very last day of the league along with numerous cup finals and champions league finals look to have taken it's toll on us this season.

That result today has been coming since the start of the season, We've always dug in and got the wins or draws out of games and it could have been the case today even though we wouldn't have deserved it but we could and should have got a point.

We all know the Matchday Thread (Well most of us do) is like, Embarrassing...Along with numerous posts on this thread. I've absolutely hated the Rags since day one because of what they stand for "Entitled Cunts". Unfortunately we've numerous Blues going the same way, Abusing players along with "we shouldn't be getting beaten by Bournemouth" bullshit.

We lost a game of football, Get it over and catch a fucking grip. Part of me wishes we were down in Division Two again just to avoid listening to this bollocks.
It’s a great post mate, genuinely, heartfelt stuff.

But I can’t get past a first sentence that fills me with images of Barbara Windsor doing exercises in a field.

Are you sure you didn’t mean ‘happy clapper’? ;-)

It's Crazy that you are not allowed to lose anymore, Toys out of the pram, The blame game,

I hate what we are becoming and I never thought in a million years believe what some people on here write after we don't win, Yes it hurts losing a game of football, But think about all the bad years City fans have had and even the fans back then that have never got to see all of this glory because they have passed over,

I know loads of City fans and mates that have passed over that would have died happy seeing us just win the League Cup again, So when you are feeling shit after a loss, THINK about how dam lucky we all are living and witnessing greatness that this club owners players and managers have giving us over the past 15 years,
Mate it’s not about the past 12 years or so. I think fans of my generation (I’m 65) recognise we are way better than whatever season we paased by since 1965.

But today’s performance was simply poor. Very poor. We looked slow, wanted it less than the opposition.

One to forget performance wise. Credit to Bournemouth, been really working hard.

But some voices hear so emotional, so out of any perspective, just to force any issue without real reason. We have 1 point less after 10 gameweek than last year. We have injury crisis, tight schedule and a great guy at the helm to overcome it going forward.

Don’t stress about it too much, the loss sucks but there is still lots of football to be played.

Agree with much of that but he pointed out post match that
"The players have made an incredible effort because there are players that are not in the best way and they made an incredible effort to be here,
So Manu, Nathan were not in really good conditions. Until the last moment I didn’t know if Nathan could play and he said ‘I want to try, I want to try’.
That’s why after 2-0, we decide to pull him because we need him for next Tuesday in Lisbon. That’s why. It is what it is".
On Walker, he said: “Kyle, 18 or 19 days and only one training session with us and today he was there.
Sometimes there are seasons where this happens more than the other ones. We have to handle it, people come back and sooner or later the team will be back."

It's quite clear 3 of our backline were not 100 % fit in this game. Against a very good Premier league side no team, particularly if they are in our condition, would be able to fully handle the intensity of Bournemouth today. If you're not fully fit it will show.
We have to accept we are in an injury crisis and Pep will have to get us through the next 4- 6 weeks so that hopefully we will still be in top 2-3 position in the League and competing for CL qualifying. All this by mid December. Will he bring in a couple of Academy lads? He may have to.
Hopefully we are not further behind Liverpool before we play them away from home ,which we probably won´t win anyway. Brighton and Spurs before anfield ,pretty hard games.

Isn’t that what he reason why we evolve as a team and bring in fresh hungry players and not stand still like we have atm . I get it that we want to show loyalty to players who have gone above and beyond for us but we need to bring in players who are yet to win titles and are hungry for success .

Running out of players and ideas. Today’s shambles resembled an organised, hungry and fit team of thoroughbreds against a disorganised and clueless team of 3-legged knackered shire horses.

Hoping to be proved wrong but I expect the same against Sporting and Brighton.

Defiant as ever, though, CTIFD.

First defeat in 33 league games after 4 league titles in a row. Clearly only unbeaten with a great performance every week is acceptable for some.

In the real world bad performances happen and defeats happen as well. It’s a normal part of football and supporting a team. The players are probably exhausted after their long term efforts with no down seasons along the way. What we’ve seen the last 4 years is simply unprecedented.
