Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I make it 178 (15 years, less 2 months) months that you've been a member. You've got just over 2.6k posts. I make that 15x the rate of the poster you are referring to. Not sure how you think you've averaged less than him.

I reckon it's not about how many posts you've made but about how many likes you've got so we can work out an XL (expected likes) for each poster (except the God Wills it chap) and if someone falls below that XL we can all give them grief.

This result been on the cards for a few weeks unfortunately, we have limped through a few close games which we could of ended up losing. All things considered we aren’t doing too badly without the balon dor winner and our most creative player. If erling stabs that in at the end its a good point. Onwards and upwards.

Come on city!!
We aren’t doing too badly points wise but we are a long way from where we need to be performance wise.

We started the season really well without Rodri but since the first international break we have been very average. We haven’t played well since August for me.

The next 3 games are real tests with a squad down to the bare bones. We then have a very in form Forest side, palace away, the rags with new manager at home and Villa away. We also play 10 games in 36 days from Spurs onwards so need all players with the exception of Bobb and Rodri fit.

We have been lucky with fixtures so far but it gets harder now and we have to solve this problem of teams cutting through us like we aren’t there. Bournemouth could and perhaps should have scored five today and Fulham could have had 4 the other week. That bit is so unlike us. We shipped sloppy goals last season but overall generally had total control of the games. We don’t anymore.

We play way too cautiously going forward now which is ok if we totally dominate but we have started to give the ball away so often that the cautious approach needs binning off. All this intricate passing around a box crammed full of players is dull to watch and isn’t working.

Lots of thinking to do by Pep.

I would say Nunes should take the role Gvardiol has and the latter should move into central defence. We need Gvardiol to be able to pass forward from the back (no risk takers there means we are slow) and Nunes can also cover defensively.
Would love to see Gvardiol as centre half or even defensive midfielder, feel he's wasted at left back.

Next game in the league is Brighton. We need to sort midfield, Brightons midfield is full of energy and work rate they press relentlessly. We can't be slow and lethargic.
