Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Contrary to some of the bollocks written on yesterdays matchday thread I do think we tried hard, tried extremely hard but it just wouldnt come off.
I also saw our players limping around the pitch. At various times I thought "Well he's coming off now"... Ake, Akanji, Haaland, Walker, all had niggles they had to play through.

The dickheads who have to have someone to blame need to realise we have so many injuries, just getting through this period is what is needed. It didnt happen yesterday, thats all. What I saw was the same passion, the same workrate,... Nothing is wrong, we havent come to the end of a cycle, we just need our players back at 100%.

We are now exposed though, I think its going to be harder, the opposition know we are wounded. The team need our support.

First post as a member!

Seems like there is a massive overreaction on here regarding yesterday’s result. Yes we played badly (apart from last 10 mins) and yes it has been coming for a few weeks.

However there must have been 4-5 players out there yesterday who were nowhere near 100% fit, and to add to that we are currently missing the literal best footballer on the planet in Rodders and also the best playmaker around in Kev. 2 key players so it’s no wonder we are not firing on all cylinders.

We are only in November plenty of games to come and hopefully it’s a bit of a kick up the bum in which we can come back strong from midweek against the glazers new puppet.

To be 2nd in the table 2 points behind Liverpool and 4 above Arsenal with the injury problems we have had so far this season I am not complaining at all!

Very impressed with their manager Iraola. Very much goes under the radar but he should get a big job soon if Bournemouth continue like they are now.
Has association with the City Group. Spent the twilight of his career at New York City.
I assume we are following him with great interest

Where to begin?

This all started last weekend. I got a ticket from a lad who sat next to me, and I am going to go down on my own.

Fortunately for me, a friend who's well known with city from Cheadle/stalyvegas had two tickets he wasn't using so me and I could take my son and the other ticket was going to his mate who I met outside the ground.

So we set off around 8:15 AM, in my car and I only passed my test in August. This was going to be my longest journey I've done, so I was a little terrified as well.

This would have been my son's first away game other than Wembley (he’s 11)

eventually arrived in Bournemouth just after 2:00 PM, traffic and a couple of rest stops poor time on the journey.

We met the other lad for the ticket, and walked to the away end, got through all the checks until we get to the scan ticket bit.

My son goes in first, everything is fine, I try and its instantly flashing up red. I ask for assistance, and I get asked to move away. Then I’m told someone’s used my ticket, and I’m asked to leave and go to the ticket office. I can’t my sons inside he’s 11.

After 5ish minutes of fretting, telling the stewards no I’m not moving until I get my son, they eventually bring him to me. We are told to go to the ticket office.

We get to the ticket office, and during the 20 to 30 minutes we are here, there are a number of blues who are having the same issue, tickets being used ‘allegedly’ but they were not and it was all supporter club sourced tickets!!

I’m challenging the lad who works for City, stating my sons ticket had worked, it was mine that wouldn’t scan, they were having none of it. Taking his details as I’m furious at this point. I can’t get hold of the lad I know as he’s away, (later on he told me it was from the other supporters club I didn’t mention to the ticket office)

I pleaded to just let my son go back in and enjoy the game, then Bournemouth officials got involved and said no as he was under 15, the game had started I thought shall we just get some chips and drive home (wish we did now) I tried one last time, pleaded again and gave them all my city ticketing information to show how them how much I go etc and we got two new tickets that were not collected.

Got into the ground just as they scored, great. Walked past our original seats (which directly behind Noel Gallagher and the circus around him) and stood towards the back.

After all that I wondered if we’d do alright, I have to say some of those on the pitch were woeful yesterday, the worst I’ve seen City in a long time, Haaland was quiet no service, Walker & Gundo had really poor games, and really couldn’t understand where was the creative aspect coming from.

Seems we always like to play crap down the south coast around this time, Southampton the other year in the cup!

2nd half we started better, certainly thought we’d get a goal as we were on top all game and boom Bournemouth score again. We offered nothing, until the last 15 mins, Doku offered something (why did we not bring him and others on earlier?) Nunes had another strong game, Gvardiol scored with a great header, but how did Erling miss that right at the end?

Semenyo for them looks exceptional! Really good footballer, best team on the day won, I’m sure we will get a bit of revenge against them later on in the season.

Heard a few moans of Gallagher & his contingent acting the big I am, bloke behind me had a heated exchange with him at HT from what I overheard, and we got home just before midnight, banging headache. proper hated that drive home.

Anyways an essay of a post, if I do a trip like this again I’m going on the train ha

One of the reasons we got beat.
Fucking stupid decision, throwing someone in who hasn't trained for 3 weeks.
It's the Premier league not the Bury Sunday league
Was it stupid, or was Pep looking at the week ahead, . Things aren’t as simple as they look from outside. maybe he thought Lewis needed a rest before Sporting and Brighton after spurs, maybe Lewis had a niggle he didn’t want to risk. You don’t know I don’t know. I know who does though and while not everything Pep does always works, he doesn’t do stupid, everything has a reason.

If rico had started with a niggle and got injured it wouldn’t really have helped long term. I don’t reckon any other back 4 were properly fit.
