Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

fair to say we loose our first league game & it's flap flap flap on here, pointing fingers at individuals.
The fact is the squad is suffering atm fitness wise, we just need to get through unscaved if possible le till after the international break. After then I'm sure most players will be fit & ready to go again.

Seems like there is a massive overreaction on here regarding yesterday’s result. Yes we played badly (apart from last 10 mins) and yes it has been coming for a few weeks.

However there must have been 4-5 players out there yesterday who were nowhere near 100% fit, and to add to that we are currently missing the literal best footballer on the planet in Rodders and also the best playmaker around in Kev. 2 key players so it’s no wonder we are not firing on all cylinders.

We are only in November plenty of games to come and hopefully it’s a bit of a kick up the bum in which we can come back strong from midweek against the glazers new puppet.

To be 2nd in the table 2 points behind Liverpool and 4 above Arsenal with the injury problems we have had so far this season I am not complaining at all!
Rag....

Has Pep rang our most concerned fan to explain himself yet?

In all seriousness, we were poor and not many players came away with any credit. However, we all know by now that this isn't the worst time of the season to be out of form and in 2nd.

Get through this rough patch and get some key players back, then Pep will fine tune our winning machine for when it really matters.

You aren't allowed to criticice a performance though because of what we've won over recent seasons, you should be congratulating them for running Bournemouth close
You can criticise, you of all people should know that as it’s all you do.
You can try and do it without your heads falling off though and proclaiming the end of days.

We’ve got nearly a full starting 11 out fucking injured.

All sounds great….AND?

Yep, it’s BEEN great! Today wasn’t just about today, though, was it?!

Today was the culmination of what’s been coming, and almost happened against Wolves and Southampton and, and…

This team, this season, is not like any of the other teams we have lauded. It’s old, tired, injured and has lost its best player…the Best Player in the World, no less, AND a guy who was Top 10, while the #2 is struggling mightily…but is still trying to plug away with the possession game.

At one point today, we had 75% possession, yet had ZERO attempts on goal and 2 touches inside the opposition box. They had 25% and 8 attempts on target…and 27 touches(?) inside our box!!

Our first shot on target was at 79:20!!!

Today was poor…tactically, structurally, mentally and physically. Had Ederson had an off day, it would have been a cricket score. As it was 2-1 SOUNDS like we took part in a game that even the most casual of observers would say we were only in for 10 mins of normal time and the 6 mins of injury time!

3/4 possession, yet only in the game for less than 1/4 of the time! THAT is what we have become…a toothless tiger.

But it is ok to be below par, They (players) are human after all,
We have to drop off at some point after the past 5 years we have had, So what if we have looked normal

Our players are being asked to reach superhuman levels and Pep said he likes to work with a small squad.
Key Injuries are a major problem with having a small squad, it could be down to just one player like Rodri out for the season and the plans are out of the window.

PS

We were top of the league before kick-off so it's not all bad

Mate it’s not about the past 12 years or so. I think fans of my generation (I’m 65) recognise how good we are and have been since the sheik took over.

But today’s performance was simply poor. Very poor. We looked slow, wanted it less than the opposition. And it was not about an injury-hit squad. We could’ve lost by a much larger scoreline. 2-1 flattered us and we certainly didn’t deserve an equaliser. That to me and many others, moreso the ones who travelled, felt hard done by. I think mist fans understand it can happen. But they are allowed to moan about it. We lost to Spurs last Wednesday and still many were proud. Not so today.

I do hope the team will reacts the way the normally do. If so this loss might prove to be a positive omen afterall. But lets be real, today was really poor and far from the battling standards we are used to from a Pep team.

But weren't we top of the league before kick-off ?

The monumental head loss with people claiming it's actually some huge underlying trend and we need to change everything every time we lose is getting a little embarrassing tbh. Sometimes you just lose.

It's Funny how blind people are ?? the doom and gloom on here after defeat

City was top of the league before kick-off hahaha, Some people think we were in the bottom 3 after a loss

Isn’t it a better start to the season than the last 4 title winning sides?

Also, there were some really bad performances in all 4 of those 4 in a row seasons. People on here wanted Pep out the season we won the treble before it all came together.

Talking about more effort after what these players have delivered is fucking disgraceful to be honest. They’re burnt out and we’ve barely been able to play close to our strongest side all season.

Seriously, some of you have no idea how good we’ve got it. Here’s a clue - better than every single team in the world. We’ve just lost our first league game in 11 fucking months and haven’t lost in the CL for an all time record amount of games.
Btw when I said effort I meant doing the basics. Being able to string passes together and attempting duels isn't complicated no matter the XI. Running 15km is going above and beyond, if the players can't do that it's fine.

I appreciate Walker was rushed back to play yesterday so not digging him out, was he way out of position and hence why Foden was in the right back slot for their first goal? I only saw brief highlights.
