I think that the spending limits play their part. We all know that we need to replace key players next year and that may take over £200 million. To do it this year would mean the wage bill would increase. We pay some players 15 million a year on their contracts so may need to wait until those contracts expire.The job is always easier when sat on your arse just watching .
But you already know that.
There were possibly good reasons for the summer recruitment was as it was, without it being clear to keyboard coaches/managers.
But of course you are entitled to your opinion :)
