Bournemouth (A) Post Match Thread

Discussed it a little in the match thread but I really don't get the hate towards Bournemouth for not having a go. The last thing a team like Bournemouth needed after a 5-1 pasting was another hefty defeat at home to knock their confidence and potentially see their season Peter out. They were in with a chance up until the final whistle, only takes one cross, one slip, one pass, one set piece for them to get something out of that as opposed to the game being dead and buried after 20 minutes if they had attacked us. If theyd have got an injury corner and scored Howe would be lauded for a tactical masterclass, it's fine margins. Bournemouth play attacking football and they often get battered by the big teams because of it. They cant compete with the top 6 playing attacking football, the difference in quality is too vast so he's set up not to take a beating and hope for a chance, I can't fault him for that and I don't think their fans will either as they clearly won't have to watch such a defensive display every week, if anything I think Howe deserves some credit for doing something different. If those stats were city vs any of the other top 6 then they'd deserve all the critics that could be thrown at them but given the size of Bournemouth who aren't even beyond being dragged into a relegation scrap you can't blame them, it's upto us to break them down.

Disagree , ive seen park the bus football plenty times and at least some teams up the anti in the last 5 or 10 minutes , that was a total embarrassment for Howe , no excuses,i would rather watch Southport F.C. on a bad day (and they can be really bad) than that garbage Bournemouth came up with today. Don't forget they have spent nearly £100m on their squad to produce that shite , they make Cardiff look like Real Madrid.

Its a shame the turds have already gained enough points that will see them sneak over the relegation cut off line. They are shithouses of the highest order, they had an awful game plan and their efforts at cheating were embarrassing.

Saying that,i'd happily take Ake off their hands,he'd be an excellent addition to our back line.

For the avoidance of doubt are the BM Jury still having a go at Mahrez?

Well it's a good job Bournemouth had 0 attempts on target and 0 corners, because we couldn't hit a cow's backside with a banjo today.
23 attempts, 7 on target.
82% posession.
And wait for this Bournemouth only committed 7 fouls (according to the referee though I thought there were 20+ occasions where a foul should have been given).
Pissed off that KDB picked up an injury - hope it isn't too bad and he's back after the international break.
MOTM: Zinchenko - The 3rd fantastic game on the spin. He has to be first choice left back now, he really has learned how to stay on this feet this season and guide opponents away from danger.

Where can you see the number of passes we made in that game? I saw some figure in the first half and thought: "no, that can't be right!''

Only downsides were the injuries. Hopefully Stones was a precaution and may be available before the international break, but de Bruyne is a worry. Hooefully he can be back before the critical fixtures in April. Well done City
