Bournemouth (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

Biggest thing for me is our lack of effective high pressing and the last 20 minutes team doesn't press at all. I hope this will improve or Pep has just decided that these players aren't capable of doing it. Kudos to Bournemouth, they are a great team and play really well out of the back.

Or perhaps at 3-1 Pep decided that game management was the most effective way of seeing the game out?

Pretty sure he was also anticipating a push from Bournemouth as the game was coming to a close, and we were still a threat in spite of our "easing off".

How to tell us you don’t understand the game without saying you don’t understand the game.

FFS.

I really don't get him, he's useless imo. He's young so I'll give him time to improve!
I could easily go down the same route mate. Intensely frustrating - I'm just keeping the faith that Pep knows how to bring him on as I sense there could be player in there, and that he's just still young. He has shown a few flashes to me that say he's not another Scott Sinclair.

unfortunately I am beginning to swing the other way now.
It's refreshing that people feel free to come out on Bluemoon and nothing unfortunate about it.

Back to Savinho , he's very young and probably lacking a bit of confidence just now, he's clearly got ability but its way to early to judge what he'll be like just now.

Waiting to fly home to Aberdeen with the wife after a great weekend in Manchester. Saw Fiddler on the Roof at the theatre, the movie I Swear at the Printworks Vue cinema (best film of the year imo) and finished with the game at the Etihad yesterday. Good performance marred by the dick of a referee Anthony Taylor who was shockingly awful. Scottish refereeeing standard which is not good. Haven’t seen the highlights till I get home but that sure looked like handball in the first half from the back of the Colin Bell Stand where we sat, but Taylor and VAR seemed to disagree, were they right?

He was one on one with a single defender and acres of room to run into but he stopped running and tried to go inside the defender. Absolutely bloody stupid it annoyed the fuck out of me.
It annoyed me as well to be fair, but when I watched the highlights it was Savinho who could easily have had a couple of assists if Marmoush or Reijnders had scored

Interesting to see both Bobb and Khousanov dropped completely yesterday and no place for Kovacic on the bench. Squad looking stronger now everyone is fit.
Think with a fully fit squad,2 or 3 will need to take turns at missing out on the bench.Doubt there will be many weeks where we don't have at least a couple of injured though.

Annoyed Dias as well. He gave him a rollicking at a corner when he first did it. Presume he misunderstood the hand signals though, as he did the same pretty much every other time...

Why would you press high up the pitch when you are 3-1 up?
