Absolutely fine with players giving each other a bollocking, happens all the time. I'm thrilled he's doing it in his second game. They were all smiles and hugs when they came out for the second half.
It is very common for players to have a go for not having the ball passed to them in those situations , I was listening on the City app broadcast , the Commentator never give up banging on about it !! Nano second decision by Foden , all them who never made a bad call on the pitch get some jelly babies to suck on !!

did foden pick up a knock or was he on the naughty step as it seemed strange to hook him at half time unless he was injured or the heat had got to him

Do fans look for any negative they can when a team keeps winning comfortably!?

This is in reality our 5 game these players have played so he is giving players as many minutes as possible early season to get them all involved plus we have a lot of games coming up so keeping them fresh..

Cant fully agree with that. Spurs don't often come up against a back 8, and kane is able to drop deep into space which with city doesn't exist. Already full of midfield and 2 FB as well as opposition, and when kane drops deep its usually to be the provider not scorer.
His first against West ham he was on the shoulder of the last defender to get penalty. The second again last defender but with space to run as west ham more open. His presence almost a good as a goal.
I think erling is going to find it more difficult to score as opposition often park the bus at etihad. I think he'll score more away than at home. As long as win I'm happy.
I do think he has a lot to learn though.
Great Post. My thoughts exactly.

Lol yeah... And it's been upgraded too! You wouldn't recognise the place... :-)
Good to hear, it wasn’t the best of area’s at the time but the locals were always very friendly, didn’t have any problems back then unlike some other places in Manchester.

Serious problems did develop & the area hit rock bottom. However, after the £400m investment in South Central Manchester, in the mid-2000's the attention was turned to North Manchester & major regeneration projects were launched.

Funnily enough, the very first of which was CoMS which shows how long the plans were on the drawing board for. There's still a way to go, but it's a million times better than the drug riddled place it was in the 90s & early 2000s.

The Council are working very closely with City in North & East Manchester & it's why all the major infrastructure projects are earmarked for North/East Manchester...

That’s great pal, just shows what a bit of investment does for an area, very positive

Forget all the media bull about goals. He'll get plenty.
They had 2 CBs and 2 DMs front and back of him within yards. 30 to 40% of opp team dedicated to 1 player! That is a big dilemma for the league.
Foden, Akel, Gundo all had chances before we scored. They were like a sieve. THAT'S what he gives us.
The moment he left the pitch they reverted to a normal line up and started to play a bit. 20220814_105640.jpg

It seems some of the media have developed the Haaland argument from one of disrupting City's style of play to one of being anonymous and not really getting in the game but Pep seemed to take the view that the players have to learn to play with Haaland: re the "Foden incident" he said that Phil didn't see Erling. "He should have passed. He didn't know he was there. He will learn Erling is ALWAYS there." It was a point developed by Silky Ilkay who said that they need to get used to playing with Haaland and what was noticeable, apart from the very good assist, was that Haaland always seemed to have a couple of yards around him which were unoccupied in Bournemouth's area. I haven't seen anything like it since Gerd Mullerr in the 70s - another player who had little involvement if you ignored his hatrick! Phil should have scored - but Erling would have done!!!

no mate i wasnt being negative i just thought it unusual to sub him at half time

Considering that it was sweltering hot and the game turned into a stroll in the sunshine, I thought the atmosphere was pretty tidy yesterday.
