Bournemouth Thread - 2023/24 | Gary O'Neill sacked and replaced by Andoni Iraola

Looking at his stats. they didn’t do quite as well as it seemed at the time. 36 points from 34 games.

But when you take into account the mess they were in under Parker and the budget he was working with, it still seems a bit harsh.

Suppose only time will tell whether it was the right decision.
36 from 34 is equivalent to 40 in a full season. Not so bad.

Classy from Bournemouth.

Saved them millions of pounds and this is the thanks he got.

Always thought Bournemouth were a well run club well it don’t look like it. Relegation next season might be their reward.
You could say they were well run under the previous regime. Their new owners not so much.

People jump on the ‘what a disgrace’ straight away every time - we don’t know the ins and outs and the reasoning of his departure yet, the owners may have lined up someone who can recruit better players etc - it’s totally the owners choice what they do with the club.
There’s been many instances of ‘what a disgrace’ when a manager gets sacked only for the next one to do a better job.

Wait to judge until the facts are out. Maybe he had awful body odour? Maybe he never flushed after dropping huge logs in the jacks? Maybe he didnt wash his hands after pissing and would dip into the staff's bags of crisps. There could be so many legitimate reasons.

You can count on the fact no one will be saying that when your mate waistcoat gets his marching orders
