Bournemouth Thread - 2023/24 | Gary O'Neill sacked and replaced by Andoni Iraola

Classy from Bournemouth.

Saved them millions of pounds and this is the thanks he got.

Always thought Bournemouth were a well run club well it don’t look like it. Relegation next season might be their reward.

There’s something more sinister here as a premier league manager is under investigation for his off-field activities by the Met.

Bournemouth fans happy about it (if a little shocked)

They reckon the owner has pledged to spend big and bring in a calibre of player higher than O'Neill could potentially manage?

This sounds completely "pie in the sky" from the American Bournemouth owner.
Anyone can promise the moon, but delivering it will be very difficult.
Unfortunately for Bournemouth fans, there are currently several Premier League teams with great recruitment teams, who are punching above their weight - e.g. Brentford, Fulham, even Palace.
Do Bournemouth fans think a "higher calibre player" would rather go to the South Coast, or live in London ?
Gary O'Neill has been excellent for Bournemouth, with the team playing exciting football.
Let's hope another Charlton Athletic/Alan Curbishley disaster does not happen...

Headlines in daily mail this morning said premier league manager accused of rape & O’Neill sacked within a few hours…..coincidence, possibly.

I thought he did an outstanding job, given the circumstances. They had comfortably the weakest squad in the division last season. Wouldn't surprise me if this time next year, he's still in the top flight and the Cherries aren't
Did a brilliant job. They were in the shit and he completely turned them around so they were effectively safe with a good amount of games left.

Deserves better from them.

Sounds more likely to be an older person than O’ Neil to me the way it’s worded.
