Bournemouth Thread - 2023/24 | Gary O'Neill sacked and replaced by Andoni Iraola

Who knows & not for us to judge but I thought it will be British & that narrows it down.

You clearly think it’s Woy ;)

Well it says the complainant was a teenager at the time and is now a mature woman. We might have different definitions of what constitutes ‘mature’ but probably fair to say it was a good while ago. Makes it most likely but certainly not a guarantee that he was working at a London club at the time, as the Met are investigating.

It’s funny how we read it but I just saw that as legal aged. Crucial clue is the quote below which could be anything from a pub darts team to a different club.

“It's said that the accused well-known figure in football met the complainant when she applied to work for an organisation he was with at the time - which is said to have no connection to the Premier League club he is currently involved with.”

What an absolutely ridiculous decision.

The lad has done a fantastic job, considering the tools he had to work with.

A lot of clubs looking for a new head coach could do a lot worse than hire him.

Always thought Bournemouth were a well run club well it don’t look like it. Relegation next season might be their reward.
They were, under Maxim Demin.

He sold the club in December to a Yankee consortium headed by Bill Foley, who owns the (Las) “Vegas Golden Knights” ice hockey franchise.

Fifteen years at his home Atletic Bilbao followed by 38 games under Jason Kreis at NYCFC.

First managerial gig with Larnaca in Cyprus didn't go well, sacked after 6 months with the last two months being winless.

Returned to Spain with second liga Mirandes and took them to their first cup semi-final in 92 years, beating Celta Vigo, Sevilla and Villareal.

Moved to fellow second liga side at the time Rayo Vallecano the next season, where he returned them to La Liga via the playoffs. He would also bring Rayo to their first cup semi-final in 40 years.

Season just finished, Rayo beat both Barça and Real Madrid under his charge. Rayo finished 11th and 12th in La Liga after promotion.

Sky are saying he stood out in Spain for his style of play, and Monaco and Marseille were interested in his services. Leeds also wanted him earlier this year when they ended up with Javi Gracia.

He will be 1 of 4 Basque managers in the EPL this season, and 1 of 5 Spaniards. That is as things stand, as we don’t know who will fill the Crystal Palace vacancy or if any more changes will come before Matchday 1.
