Boyata

Boyata was fantastic in the game, him and Kompany both ''put in a shift'' and were impressive. To be as young and inexperienced as he is and go the the swamp and play such an accomplished game, he can be proud of himself, hopefully he'll have a great future for us.

I would just like to echo a lot of the positives said reference this lad.......I thought he had a stonking game last night, and for one would not be surprised to see him on the team sheet again ahead of some of the others. Much respect to Bobby for believing in him : )

Looks like he's going to be a great player to me. Fantastic performance from the lad last night. Well done!!

Boyata was suberb last night. Looked a little uncomfortable under pressure with the ball coming towards him at waist height, a couple of times he sliced his clearances towards the "D". But overall a cracking game, got stuck in and decent with the ball at feet as well.

Richards was our best defender for my money last night. Ryan Giggs is a top top player but he never got a sniff down the left. Kompany played another good game as per. We looked a lot better with Zab at left back rather than Garrido imo.

i can only fault a few of his clearancaes but apart from that he was sheer class, cant believe redknapp before the game

I totally agree with you all; Boyata was really impressive in defense (while considering his age and match experience!), along with Kompany.
I was very impressed also, in seeing how the remaining City players were comfortable in passing the ball to him, and you can see the confidence in Boyata when he is trapping the ball and then moving to pass the ball nicely to another City player.

We are having a first choice CB in the making!! This really gives us the confidence of our future (specially City's Academy players)

The future is bright; the future is Blue!

I had reservations about his selection and would have put Neddy in personally, but then I don't see the players as close up as Mancini so I'm happy to trust his judgement. If he made a mistake or two, then he wasn't the only one. Great prospect.

BUT, to put it into perspective. Imagine if Boyata was a rag and camelface took his ban like a man, and they'd stuck him in? The sky pundits would be wanking themselves senseless. But because he's not one of Baconfaces piglets, he gets criticism....tossers.

Let's finish with a song:

The lad is going to be class. Got to stick with him in my book, he has done nothing to drop him for Sunday.
