Boyata

I think he will be a great player for us in years to come, but I dont think he was ready for last night. Would have started with Onouha if it were up to me, but the lad played well, just made a few critical errors which is to be expected of a young lad under immense pressure.

another academy big thumbs up, he has been excellent, only inexperience told on him in the end.
a big future for this lad if he wants it

The lad was fucking immense ! I'd rather have him and Kompany at the back than fucking Lescott and Toure. Biggest waste of money ever. I hope he doesn't lose his place to either of those two without good reason.

He dealt with everything tonight, ok so he had a couple of slips, but nothing that cost us...one of them even ended up being a class clearance over the bar.

He certainly wasn't at fault for the goal as he had 2 Utd players to deal with...someone else should have been marking up helping him out !

My son & I were talking after the match & would we can see Boyata having a good chance of player of the month for January. I know Tevez is absolutely brilliant for his goals against the scum, but this was all a new & daunting task that Boyata was in. Even the Rags fans at work are saying what a great job he did in both matches to keep Shrek quite & wish they had him instead of any of their back line. He will be a great City player...........the next Richard Dunne.

He slipped at a few critical moments, and sliced many clearances. He could maybe have been a bit tighter to Rooney for their winner, giving himself a better chance of stopping the ball reaching him. You could also tell he was incredibly nervous.

But you know what... i don't give a shit. There'd be something wrong with him if he wasn't nervous. I'm incredibly proud of him. He's come from nowhere to play both legs in our first cup semi-final for about 28 years, or something like that. And a Manchester derby to boot. He was also outstanding against Scunny. I'm not going to be blind to certain errors that he made - because he did make some - but at the same time, you can forgive him 100%. He's put everything he has into these games. So, so proud of the lad. Made some great last ditch challenges, glancing headers to clear the danger, and put his body on the line to block things. I can't think of a single player that has crammed so much into his first 3/4 games as a professional. These experiences will stand him in great stead for the future. A star is born.

Well said TT especially the bit about coming from nowhere to be in two semi's. The lad has a bright future as long as he keeps away from Micah in his spare time LOL.

Jamie Redknapp pre-match said he had a dodgy game against Scunthorpe - wtf?
