What fucking morons. That’s going to be one of those things that follows them for the rest do their lives. Any would-be girlfriend or employer is going to google them and (when they’re identified) that will be the first 1,000 things that come up. Depending on how much coverage it gets they probably won’t be able to go out to a bar or pub for years without looking over their shoulder.
Like the fans arrested for Munich gestures and the guy wearing the “not enough 96” shirt I’m not sure I agree with it being a criminal offence though. The public shaming, losing your job, being banned from all football grounds, being forever known as a complete scumbag, bringing shame to your family and worrying you’re going to bump into a Sunderland fan who recognises you is probably enough IMO.
It's a criminal offence because it could incite public disorder. Just as shouting fire in a crowded building is.
