I can't see him signing a new contract. The league is done and dusted and he's not even making the bench. I just don't think Pep rates him as highly as Foden.

He's currently having to make way for Yaya unfortunately.Hopefully he understands the thinking.

It's pretty hard to understand the thinking to be honest.

Would you rather have someone who is definitely leaving with no future at City on the bench, or someone you want to sign a new contract because you think he's got the potential to be a starter in the future?

This wasn't Yaya's farewell game, he's getting a whole game dedicated to that on Wednesday.

The league is already won
Aguero is injured

But yet, Diaz can't even make the bench.

Next season the club will buy another forward which means less minutes for Diaz next season.

I agree.

Play Diaz over Sane for the remaining games I say. Sane has been dreadful with his lack of concentration and general sloppiness.

Agree completely. The guy is amazing but I think Pep is wrong in what he's doing regards to Diaz. Surely he can give Diaz some belief he has a future at City and still respect Yaya's service when the team play Brighton.

Easily. As others have said, start both of them.

Today was Sane’s worst performance in a sky blue shirt. He gave away the ball about 75% of the time he had it, including a completely inexplicable moment where he quite literally stood still, stared down a defender, and then tapped the ball directly to them two yards away, setting up a counter attack. He is a supremely talented player but my god that was dross today.

Starting Diaz would not hurt us in the slightest on that showing. Worse case scenario is that he is just as bad, which would be an achievement in of itself.

Glad to see him get some minutes which means there is no dispute yet between him and the club regarding contract extension.

Found great space on at least 4 occasions. However, on two of those occasions, he immediately passed the ball backwards when he actually had nobody marking him and a clear opportunity to turn and drive at a defence on the back foot. Hope he gets longer on Sunday.

He's getting in the right positions. A few inches more to his height and he'd be first-team ready. His technique is impeccable but he should be more self-confident, like Sancho is showing for Dortmund this year.

Would like to see him start ahead of Jesus at the weekend.

I think he's going to be world class.

Very good cameo last night, bit more strength and he will be some player

I know we all rave about Foden because he is class. But Diaz for me is right up their with him.

Imo this lad has the possibility to become our very own messi type player, his skill set and wanting to actually get the ball and then take players on is great to see and watch evry time he gets the opportunity to come on.

Diaz and Foden - our very own homegrown messi and xavi : )

Diaz has always been better than Foden for me.

How did he play ?

Didn't really get many touches. The game was very fractured and we were getting pretty desperate for the goal so it wasn't the best opportunity to show what he can do. Tried to get on the end of a few through balls, tried to play a few balls into the box but there were 10 saints players in the box so none really went anywhere. If I were doing a player ratings neither Brahim or Foden would get a rating, simply weren't on long enough to be either good or bad.

He's put on some man weight this season. We had our photo with him at the start of the season and he looks unrecognisable when you see him now. Really excited for he and foden next season.

What a moment for the lad to be a part of
