2 international goals in one half of football. That is very pleasing and I think he will be staking a claim for a regular start in the run on England team.

I know that LoveCity queried the absence of any City players in the England under 21 team. I am hoping that as they progress players like Barker and Angus Gunn can step up eventually to the under 21 team.

The 'other' Moussa Dembele is supposed to be another good prospect at Fulham.
 
By the report is sounds as though Barker was pretty much involved in everything. An exciting prospect but will see how he is managed. It seems in England that a lot of top prospects fall away between the ages of 16-24. Even some that have made huge impacts at 17/18 seem to fall away because of one thing or another. Barker is young and has always played an age above - I think he could be the perfect icing on the City academy cake if he can keep improving and get in and around the first team.

Early days but the signs are very good,very good indeed!
 
Wow he is by far the best player on the pitch there. I hope he ends up in our first team one day.

Btw as mentioned patrick Roberts is gonna be class when older

We should remember that that is Luxembourg he's playing there. With a population of 550k, you wouldn't fill the Etihad with teenage Luxembourgian boys. I'm not a big fan of England at youth levels either. Lots of focus on physical ability like size, power and pace that don't transition well into the senior game where everyone is fully grown.

That isn't to say Barker doesn't look like a real talent. I'd rather focus on his technical prowess though and I think that'll be more evident for club, rather than country.
