Breaking records/stats thread

Because that’s not the hypothetical choice.

We have 21 now. The choice is to see see what happens from now on that we could lose or draw at any time vs a guaranteed equalling (but not surpassing the record)

Comes down to how confident you are on winning all of the next 6 games.
Fair enough. In that scenario, I'd settle for the 27, and then draw to Leeds, definitely not lose to them though! We're going to drop points before the end of the season anyway. It would be bloody annoying if we failed in number 28, though.

Actually, did I see somewhere that the record in professional football (in Europe, at least) is 29 wins? Benfica, early 1970s?
League only, across 2 seasons (71-72 and 72-73). Fuckers then followed it up by going the entire 72-73 season unbeaten.

BBC football focus... city haven’t lost a premier league mid-week game since 2010 !! Have missed heard that ? That’s mad if it’s true

I had a look as it was mentioned by Sky the other night n’all. It’s not true. We’ve lost the following midweek games since then:

Mondays
Everton at home 2010-11
Liverpool away 2010-11
Chelsea away 2013-14
Palace away 2014-15
Arsenal away 2015-16

Tuesdays
Everton away 2011-12
Newcastle away 2018-19

Wednesdays
Sunderland away 2012-13
Liverpool away 2015-16
Chelsea away 2016-17
Leicester away 2018-19

Thursdays
Chelsea away 2019-20

Fridays
Wolves away 2019-20

Although, if you only count Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday as midweek, we’ve not lost a midweek home game since 2010.

I'm guessing that's the case here. They're counting fridays and mondays as "weekend" fixtures.

Indeed but we’ve still lost 7 midweek games since 2010.

That’s both the BBC and Sky saying this incorrect stat in a week.

According to those results we haven't lost any home game mid week since 2010 if you include Monday and Friday either?

Edit, Chelsea was home in 2013/14 Monday.

So when did we last lose a mid week (Tue, Wed, Thurs) home game?
