It's a shame we won't beat the consecutive wins record as it's unlikely we'll be in a position to do it again.
Then again, back in 17/18 when we won 20 on the bounce who would have thought we'd have come close to that again, never mind beat it?

Here's a stat / record not often repeated , we were the first english club to win a domestic trophy and european trophy in the same season 1969/70 , not bad for a club with no history
There is an argument that Leeds did that before us in 1968. Depends how you word it as the Inter Cities Fair trophy was a European trophy in that it was played by teams from across Europe but not a UEFA affiliated Competition.

Apparently the pen wasn't given by VAR because the ref said he felt the Saints player got the ball - the implication being that VAR would have given it otherwise.

A new record today, well joint record.
Conceeding 6 home pens in a Prem season... anyone would think we've been fighting relegation...I dare say that we also hold the record for the least time opponents have been in our area out of all clubs this season......almost like it's corruption before our very eyes.

1) I don't believe the ref overruled VAR.
2) I think it happened in the recent Merseyside derby anyway.
If we concede one more penalty this season it will be the same amount as the three previous seasons added together.

Thankfully, due to our talented squad and management, it hasn't cost us.
Now when it comes to the CL, that's corruption on a whole new level - expect them to start taking a leaf out of the PL book from the QF onwards. I'm currently trying to find a bet that we have a minimum of 1 penalty awarded against us per round going forward
