Breaking records/stats thread

So; let me get this right. You're saying that season was pretty phenomenal for Liverpool, stats wise?
Of course it was - statistically it's the best League season performance ever!
Liverpool 1978/79 Old Division 1 Record:
P42 Home W30 D8 L4 F A GD +69 Home (W19 D2 L0 F51 A4 GD+47) Away( W11 D6 L4 F34 A12 GD+22) Pts 69 (@2 pts per win) All time points total 98 (@3 points for a win)
- Best total points record ever = 98 (@3 points for a win)
- Best home record ever = W19 D2 (59 points @3 points for a win))
- Best goal difference in the old division one. +69
- Best goals against record in the old division one (16). Only Chelsea have bettered it since with 15 - but that was in a 38 game season not a 42 game season.
- 3rd best away win record in Old Div 1 = 11 (behind Spurs 16 @1960/61, Arsenal 14 @1930/31 - level with WBA @1921, Sheffield Wed @1929/30 & Arsenal 1970/71)
Plus:
FA Cup Semi-Finalists (lost to Utd 1-0 in the replay - Both at Maine Road)

We can take the best record of them all which kind of shows how good our season is.
Best total points/overall record -> currently +90 (12 remaining)
We have also dropped them to 3rd place in the all-time goal difference list -> Currently +73 (+4 with 4 games to go)

I actually meant our club record, rather than the overall one. Didn't the Mickeys concede only 16 goals in a 42 game season, sometime in the mid/late 1970s?

Not discounting history, but I think there should be a distinction between the pre and post pass back rule change.

Quickest managers to 50 Premier League wins:

1. Jose Mourinho (63 games)
2. Pep Guardiola (69 games)
3. Antonio Conte (73 games)

It would be fantastic if we could break both the Premier League points & goals record before lifting the trophy next week. 2 wins & 6 goals against West Ham & Huddersfield to take us to 96 points &/104 goals respectively. Very doable with this team.
