Breaking records/stats thread

Just for a bit of context, I think the 2011/12 season is comparable, at this point in that season we had won 9, drawn 1, lost 0, scored 36, conceded 8 and were 5 points ahead of United (but we had beat them), very similar.

In fact, in that season, we didn't drop any more points until the 13th game (draw) and didn't lose till the 15th game (against Chelsea).

Hopefully it won't be as tight this time!

I think it's way too early to say if we will set the record for points in a season, but I do think we'll set the record for goals and goal difference

When's the last time we won the first five away league games in a top flight season? Don't think we managed it in our recent title winning seasons.

Well the commentator today said we'd now won 6 away league games in a row and we haven't done that since 1904 (it was roughly that year). 7 would be a club record.

So based off of that information, i'd be surprised if we've started a season winning 5 straight league games away from home.

Hadn't heard that. Cheers for the reply.

#MCFC club records that could be equalled or beaten today at WBA:

Most away wins in a row in League: 6, 7 March – 26 September 1903. If we win at WBA we will have equalled this (currently on 5 including Watford on last day of last season).

Most wins in a row - all competitions: The current run/record is 12 and a win today would take the sequence to 13.

Most career first team goals - 177 Aguero has equalled Brook's record. A goal today and he's the all-time greatest City scorer with a goals to game ratio that eclipses all others.

Most games without defeat all competitions: currently on 20 (since FAC semi defeat v Arsenal). In 24 Nov 2013- 29 Jan 2014 we went 20 games in all comps without defeat. This may well be the record. It eclipses the runs around 1937 & 1947. Whatever happens if we don't lose today we will have passed the run from 2013-2014.

EDIT: Note-on the sequence debate from the other day. I've had confirmation from Sky and the key men behind the Nationwide Football Annual that they believe that City's current record is bona fide and they consider it the record. The Football Annual is the most historic of all football annuals and has been perceived since the 19th century as the official record of football. The Sky Sports annual is another official record. This means the most authoritative record sources view this rightly as a winning sequence that is now MCFC's record.
I wonder if Marvin has withdrawn his request to the Guiness Book of Records?

Is def something I'm keeping in mind. I thought we'd piss the league that season. Think we won away at QPR about 10th, 11th game. We weren't at our best but just scored again whenever they got one. And I walked out that day & just thought no way anyone could finish above us.
Shit, we were pretty much out of the title race on Easter Monday (well, not quite out of it!).
