Not wanting to speak out of turn , but is he worth more thsn £1.5 million. To me No.. He grafts but has no end product. Behind Big Phil and Boj for me , even put him behind Vass! Great Championship player but that is it for me!!! Take the money and fookin leg it!!!

I doubt Ched is going to end up playing much for us in the future but then neither will Caicedo imo.
Depends who we get this summer though i suppose, if we end up not being able to attract the players we'd like then both of them might get more games than we think.

I don't understand the need to berate, belittle and slag off an academy plyer who is just starting out on his professional career. FFS give him a chance. He was asked to play, like many on his own up front last season and just because he found it it a little bit daunting you want rid of him. Not all kids hit the ground running. I.e Ireland and we all saw what time and confidence has done that lad.

I for one would give him another season or two to see if he can cut it or not.

Especially if it's at the expense of that stump Benjani.

In any deal say buying a car, you don't go and offer the most you can afford to pay as your opening offer, likewise the owners don't accept the first offer. I have no doubt there is a price between 1.5m and say 5m that the clubs can agree on I have no doubt if Sheffield are serious about an academy player they will come back. For me I would never give any of our players away, I would not call them like some muppets on here have done.

Ched will be quality. At least now we're loaded it doesn't matter so much.

i say put ched out on loan for a season but a clause in the loan contract were we can get him back at any time because were talking mcfc players get injured so easy... offer styrridge a contract he cant refuse cozz no one is going to offer anything he is looking for!!!! and put him on loan with the same clause1!! never get rid of your academy players...

£1.5 million is way too cheap. Call it £3 million plus £2 million when they are promoted plus a 20% sell on clause and that sounds about right.

Bit of an unfair comparison with Ireland, most of us were saying no way at £4 million also Ched in fairness is a pretty average forward. Like Miller he will get 20 goals in the championship but the prem is just a little beyond him. Not enough craft for this level especially where we are going. Caicedo is a much better player; therefore its time for him to move on.

I like Ched but he's not quite good enough for the Premier league, at least not quite yet. He'll do very good in the Championship though, good luck to him.
