Unless somebody has put in a better bid, this makes no sense to me.

Of course it makes sense; he's clearly better than that price so why should we give him away for peanuts in football terms just because we are loaded?

What I like about the new regime at City is that we are getting rid of this 'soft touch' mentality; it's time the fans did as well. We'll either get more or develop him on until we do, just as the rags or the arse do.

Re: city turn down bid for Evans

With any luck (and I'm not having a go at Ched here) come next season he won't be good enough to be anywhere near the bench even. £1.5 million is about what he's worth so I'd get rid.

Re: city turn down bid for Evans

Tevez RSC

AND WE ARE PUTTING IN A BID NEXT FUKIN WEEK???????????????
If this is true there are a lot of posters on here talking SHITE

I dont think Ched will ever develop into a premplayer, he puts in the effort but lacks the talent, perhaps 1.5 mill is a bit short of his value, but he is one of the players we need to help move on.

2-3 million and I would sell asap.

why?
also said we are unlikely to go in for johnson and bids for santa cruz and tevez are expected.

It says why in the article:

"City's rejection of the bid from the Championship play-off finalists is a sign of intent that they will not let their Academy success stories go for peanuts."

Personally I think £1.5 million is pushing it. If they don't want to offer more add a 25% sell on clause, because wih a couple of seasons of Championship football Ched will be a Premiership standard striker.

I think he might mean "deals" as in, almost done deals. Bailey has obviously been told by the club who we are going for, which is:

Santa Cruz
Tevez
Lescott
Eto'o

These are the ones he keeps bringing up with certainty.

Re: city turn down bid for Evans

Always refuse the first bid even if it exceeds your valuation. They are offering their lowest figure I am sure they can offer more. Only thing I would ensure is if we sell him there is a sell on clause. I reckon if they double their offer to 3m I think there will be a deal.
