Breathtaking

I never banged a pot I never clapped - not out of disrespect but because I refused to be gaslit. Distraction distraction - there are still people banging on today that Johnson was brought down by cake and some fucking idiots still buy that. The way this drama is going the idea doing the rounds today about Johnson making a comeback will be done by the final ep on Wednesday
So true. None of my family clapped and most of them work in the NHS. They said it was a cynical stunt. So did my ward sister neighbour.

Your wife is a wonderful person mate and you and your family clearly went through a lot. I'm not suprised you are angry. I know words on a forum are meaningless but she has my gratitude as do all the other people who did the same.
Thank you, on another note i forget to mention in my post.
In 2021,one year after the pandemic had started, johnson propossed giving the NHS staff a 1 % rise, one fucking per cent , the sheer gall of the man is astounding,I wont forget him or what happened, and I'll never forgive.

just finished my work at 1.30pm today ,and I'm glad i will be out at City tonight instead of watching the 2nd part of breathtaking tonight.

Made my blood boil watching that , i was watching the scences from italy at the time and what our drs were saying in public , the fucking gov told them they had to stop talking about it , censoring the drs so they looked good . Dont even get me started on the ppe fucking scandal , cunts
I haven't watched it, but I do remember when Italy starting happening, it was obvious that the borders needed to be shut/controlled to have any chance of ensuring life went on as normal in the UK - and being an island, it should have been easy to implement.
Mrs JASR being a doc at the time, had known that something was happening in China in November, and by January was already telling bewildered parents that they might be "locked down" soon, and to think about it... I think the medical community really expected border controls in place, and by that time that didn't happen, it was too late...and we were buggered

Unless your wife was exceptionally well informed I think you are mistaken in your timeline. The official patient zero in Wuhan was at the beginning of December and the unfortunate Chinese whistleblower who died reported at the end of December. I don't think many people outside China were talking lockdowns as an International thought till Feb.

I worked in my local hospital all through it.
My wife had just started a HCA role ( health care assistant ) and was not at the top of her pay scale / band, she got tranferred to ITU and went, didn't moan, didn't complain while longer server staff got moved to wards etc,she is BAME and was paid around £9.20 per hour for working on ITU for 18 months.
I was worried sick for me,and obviously her, also our son was only 13 when it started,he had to go to school when
we were both in work as he was too young to stay at home for 9 to 12 hours, putting him at further risk while mixing
at his school with other key workers kids.

My mrs slept apart from me for 3 months at the start, due to her fear of giving it to us and our son,all our shoes had to
be taken off and left near the front door and everything disinfected when we came home from work,I coud go on and on.

then that **** and his motley crew did what they wanted , its effected me and my wife and took a long time to get back to normal.

last night triggered my wife and she began sobbing its not nice to see or witness.

a nurse who took my wife under her wing when she first moved on to ITU ,was African, she contracted covid and died within a month, I pass her memorial garden at tameside most days.

RIP Miri
Many thanks to your Mrs and many like her who stepped up at a time of great stress.
It was not a great time to be in ITU particularly if you were new to it.
