Brentford (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Get this rag banned
Everyone is called a rag on here at some point or another. Surprised you didn't add the "sniff" shite as well.

Is it being a top Blue to pile into Gundogan as many others are doing even though it was Ake who missed a header, meaning the ball fell to the Brentford player to score their 1st? Should I have laid off McAtee because he's relatively young even though people are laying into Savinho, who's younger than McAtee and for whom this is his first season in English football, for being supposedly "greedy" and for hitting the post after a great run? Haaland's got stick for not scoring from a free header too, where's your "Rag" comments towards people having a go at him?

There's a couple of pics in the Torygraph today about Pep going mental with Steffen, and then one of him hugging him. Don't know which came first, but what had Steffen done to get Pep to two points off murdering someone?
Some lip reading expert has apparently come up with “take the yellow” in other words he wanted Ortega to waste time at the end

We seriously lack on field leaders. When Wissa scores, there’s not long left in the game, someone needed to tell everyone what to do, Erling, take it in the corner and keep it there, Stefan don’t leave the pitch unlesss you’ve got a yellow for time-wasting, Jack (should have been on), win free-kicks for fun!

It isn't as simplistic as "a point at Brentford isn't bad" because that statement is very true.
A draw at Brentford is really poor when you go into the last 10 minutes 2 nil up. Amazingly poor to then not go on to win that game. To not manage a game until the very end and to throw away two vital points which was in our hands. That is what isn't good enough.
Whilst I kind of agree with you I can’t help but notice that you joined the forum on Friday. Maybe you don’t remember “typical city” but a lot of us old-timers remember it well and despite all the recent success we still live it!

It should have been Haaland off. He was strolling around up front.
Notwithstanding the fact that Savinho selfishly chose to shoot, when, on 2 occasions, he could have passed to Haaland, who was better positioned to score.
He also did the same to Foden, so it was nothing personal, but he does need to take the blinkers off at times.

We need a defensive midfielder ! Any chance of getting one by the end of this window?
That should have been Peps FIRST signing of the summer!

He regrets not signing players in the summer now, but he should have been wise and experienced enough to know that a top manager always needs to strengthen his squad, preferably with players who are an improvement on what he's already got ... and especially if he wants to keep winning trophies!

That is patronising to a man like pep

If only we had you as manager. We’d have won even more trophies!

Winning the most trophies ever by an English club in a 7 year period just isn’t enough!!!!!

Don't worry about when I joined, seems to be a weird theme on here for top blue points of when you joined an internet forum. I watched us in the 90s mate, I don't need educating and we are no longer that shower of a side. We always have the typical City mentality, that will never leave us, that doesn't make things like last night acceptable. My post was towards people sugar coating it saying not a bad point there. On paper it isn't. In reality it was a horror show way not get the 3 points.

What the fuck does Pep see in games.??

It's beyond a joke at times. Getting run ragged and he brings on Gundo who can't run.

I wouldn't blame O'Reilly and Mcatee for fucking off. It's a blatant 2 fingers to them both, chucking on pensioners before them.

To be fair we deserved to lose that game on balance. But to chuck away another 2 nil lead away is crazy.

We wasted very good chances again and chucked 2 goals in at the other end.

We will get murdered in February.
Arsenal
Newcastle
Liverpool
Spurs
Forest

That should ignite the clappers v entitled contest again at least!!
8 points there I think.

If Pep insists playing Pep ball then he needs a new Ederson, Ortega is a great keeper but a car crash when it comes to distribution, he put us under pressure with some of his passing at the back and then when he kicked it forward he only occasionally found Haaland. I’m still fuming with that draw, the midfield offered zero protection to the defence once Kovacic went off, he wasn’t the best either tbh. I dont think unless we get at least 3 decent players in and one has to be a DM we will get top 4.
How about getting in 3 players who like to / or can tackle ;-) that would be a start.

Been saying this for ages.
We don’t fucking tackle!!!!
We’re far too soft.
Gone from (allegedly) being the masters of the dark arts to the softest c###s in the league.
Wtf is going on?
If I didn’t know better I would say it looks deliberate….

Haha I love the optimism. We got 5 points from the first fixtures against those sides. We haven't improved to justify much change in what we will get out of them this time around. New signings could have a say though and I would be a bit more optimistic if we have a new CM in time for them games.

As it stands I can't see much more than 3 points from them fixtures. Hope I am wrong.
