Brentford (A) - Post-Match Thread

Not gonna be too harsh on the team after the Dipper and Chelski results the points were far more important than the performance , we were collectively average , credit to Brentford's manager , honest appraisal of the match no whinging or moaning refereshing from a european manager at least brentford did try to stretch us in the first half and didnt intentionally put ten behind the ball , they just were not allowed to play in the second half.

Found their supporters a truly strange bunch. Once shared s train with them from Burnley to Preston following a championship match. They were aggressive with everyone and I felt threatened despite being around 60 at the time. They also seemed to support Chelsea and sang a lot if anti rag songs. Sat with some Millwall fans a couple of weeks earlier on the same journey who while looking hard as nails were quite happy to talk footy with me they didn't want soft targets. Hope their one season wonders.

A hard watch at times, but a win, no goals conceded, and no injuries(hopefully), brentford tried it on a bit and didnt deserve anything from the game.

They took points from dipperpool though, scared chelsea and beat arsenal, so they are ok by me, and at least they get players forward and I hope they stay up.

Re the offside, it should be feet only, they are normally on the ground thus eradicating this verticle dotted line shit which is so easy to manipulate, Eric was offside down to where upper arm was jugded to be on both players, coupled with that dreaded verticle line, it needs simplifying.
2 seasons of VAR and not once have we had both players level… why? Surely at some point it should have occurred

much more comfortable than the dire Prime commentary suggested, not sure what McCoist was on or which game he was watching

thought Ake had his best game for us, actually looked better than Dias and Laporte, the later being unlucky with the 2nd that should have been given

Brentford were bobbins, they didn't sit back like some teams but they didn't have a go either. If that Toney is worth £30m then he must come with a bag that has £25m in it.

as for their fans, sooner they get a reality check the better, what a bunch of strange people, they could probably give you 7 reasons why they lost and only be counting on one hand.

Great move from Pep. Brentford scored three goals against the dippers by hanging out onto the full backs. And even caused Chelsea massive problems too.
We really did do a number on them tonight in that way.
Yeah I thought it was a simple rotation but as the match went on it made a lot of sense.

Big 3 points given the standard of performance… we’ll need to be better at the weekend.

Toney is a snide little bastard; absolutely should have seen yellow and probably red for the quite deliberate stamp on Ferny's calf.

Agree with all -- Phil and Ake both excellent tonight, as was Laporte and Kev too. Controlled the ball, the tempo and their breaks extremely well, and that's especially heartening after the breakdown 2H v Leicester.
