But Glanville did write a great football novel in the 1960s. 'The Rise of Gerry Logan'

It's interesting how Glanville portrays City as the example of all that is wrong with the modern game, yet his beloved Arsenal, with season tickets in excess of £1000 and relentless pillaging of other club's academies, are held up as bastions of old school virtues.
