Not sure why someone decided to dig this up from 2010. I am also baffled beyond all reason as to why anyone who is a fan of this club would have anything bad to say about Brian Marwood.

Yes at the start he was involved in Hughes' scatter gun approach to targets. He has been involved in all our transfer dealdings since Summer 09. All this nonesence about him picking the players is rubbish. It is a committee but it is the manager and the scouting network that identify players. Then the signings are made based upon a number of factors.

Lets look at the players that have come in under Marwood:
09/10
Barry
Santa-Cruz
Tevez
Adebayor
Kolo
Lescott
Sylvinho
Viera
Adam Johnson
10/11
Boateng
Yaya Toure
David Silva
Kolarov
Balotelli
Milner
Dzeko
11/12
Clichy
Savic
Aguero
Nasri

I think if you look over that, only really the RSC move stands out as being a dudd in terms of money spent and the position of the club at the time. I have put some in bold because these signings inparticular, Brian Marwood was key to making happen. I can not stress enough that he was instrumental in selling our club to these players and negotiating the transfers and contracts.
Anyone could have got those players with the finances we have.

Only the ones in bold I would say have been worth the money we payed all the others were either complete failures ( santa cruz, savic etc) or we could have got better for the money we payed ( Dzeko, Kolarov, Milner etc). Marwood needs to go otherwise I can see Mancini going.

That's the problem with buying players and paying them stupid wages. When they fall out of favour, they don't want to leave and are happy to ride the bench and pick up their wages.

I mean Adebayor doesn't want to leave because spurs won't pay him his 170k a week. Players like bridge and Santa cruz are still earning big money.
I mean how can you pay Wayne bridge 90k a week?

IIRC, these players who you mention don't even count towards FFP due to when they signed their contracts. So contrary to popular belief, offloading these players is way, way down on our list of priorities. Isn't Wenger the highest paid manager in the league, anyway?

Mancini is now mate I think.

Re: Brian Marwood

Mancini just been on gmr, he was not very happy,, dont think it does city any good when all this is going on, thought we were finished with all this shite, papers will love it.

Re: Brian Marwood

I completely understand Mancini's frustrations but I wish he wouldn't go public with grievances such as this. I'm sure everyone at City is already well aware of his antipathy towards Marwood but airing it like this in front of the media doesn't do the club any favours at all.

Mancini's obviously gone public in one last attempt to force the issue, but I really hoped these sort of divisions within the club were a thing of the past.

Re: Brian Marwood

What Mancini wants is best for the team. That isn't necessarily the best thing for the club.

A message to the OP...

Get in touch with Sheikh Mansour, tell him that he is incompetent by employing personnel that are of no use to us. Just voice your concern to him direct, if that's how you feel.

I'd be interested to hear his reply...

Isn't it fuckin unbelievable.

Want want want on here.

If we don't buy anyone dummy gets spat out.

I feel incline to fully agree with you on this!

But when its the manager who as just won you the league who spits his dummy out on the same subject it surely starts ringing alarm bells? You can try and butter it up any way you want but the fact is we have not managed to deliver any of the players Mancini wanted to improve the team and from what the manager says, the person responsible is Marwood. Love how some like to bury their heads in the sand on here sometimes.

Re: Brian Marwood

Marwood has his marching orders as well... You all might want to take a look at the Sheikh and ask some questions as well. It's quite clear that Marwood cannot buy unless he sells Ade and RSC....

We need to go in heavily for a player. I don't understand how we can't spend around £35m on one/two players every summer window similar to Barcelona/Real/Chelsea/Rags.

We will not win the league unless we strengthen with starting XI quality players.
