Bottom line is marwood doesnt deserve praise for bringing in plan c targets on the last day. it wasn't a good window for us, all the last minute deals are testiment to that, but it doesn't mean we didn't sign some good players or get some bargains. Time will tell.

Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Plan C targets !!! Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
And you know this because ...?

You really think Sinclair was the next target in mind after Hazard? You really think Rodwell and Garcia were the targets after the likes of De Rossi?

-- Thu Oct 04, 2012 12:56 am --

What with the FM bullshit? Are you unable to debate like an adult?

Cdm is a defensive midfielder. Barry and DeJong are this, now also Rodwell and Garcia.

Cm we have Yaya and that's it, Milner can do a job there but really he's an allrounder utility player as we know.

Cam is Silva and Nasri. Both are play makers doing the same job.

In Iniesta and Xavi you have a player that sits in CM linking up play from Busquets to Messi/Pedro/Villa/Sanchez.

They dictate passing and movement whilst retaining possession and look to bring in an attacker.

With is we bring Yaya in to run from the halfway line to the box and then link up play. We have Silva and Nasri sitting high up and if we lose ball we get murdered on the counter. By utilising deeper player you retain depth whilst the option to ping a ball in for Silva etc to get on the end of. Never losing composure or being caught out.

It also means that we aren't reliant on Yaya to make our play happen. We would have someone to help the load our.

United for example will have Fletcher holding and Scholes and Carrick in CM. That's my whole point.

I've never foe'd anyone on here but you're going to be the 1st - you give me a bastard headache, the funny thing is you're actually believing that drivel, you're not a wum.................

Before i send you into outer space you do realise what makes yaya affective???? Diversity during games, you have to have players who play more than one role sunshine, a fixed blueprint leaves you with sweet FA - each one of those signings, like the last 5/6 we've made are jacks of all trades which in essence sets our squad above all others in the league - FACTAMUNDO DUDDDDDDDEEEE!!!!!!

Bullcrap, you ans SWP talk some drivel I tell you that now. Bad signings and lacking a CM partner for Yaya as I said from the off. Too much has to go through Yaya and our signings are a lad that couldn't get in Everton team, a player in decline in Maicon, a Chelsea cast off and Garcia. Atrocious yet the happy clappers call you a flapper when you state it early on. I am right and its clear for all to see. We lack a midfield runner and our play is too slow.

Hate this forum, clique :(

Agreed, it's like RAWK on here at times.

How do you know they werent? Frankly, we are lacking that extra bit of quality to go forward in Europe. We were/are good enough domestically to challenge for the title, but in no way can you convince me that Rodwell, Sinclair, Garcia were bought to push us forward in Europe. For that extra bit of quality, we targetted De Rossi, Hazard, Van Persie etc and due to whatever reason we were unable to close the deals with those players. Of course, this is due to FFP more than Marwood as we haggled until deadline day even for the Plan B/C players but you cant deny that there is an element of incompetence on Marwoods side without which we might have seen some of the deals closed a bit earlier. On the whole, barring Tevez's apparent re-kindling of love towards football, we have stood still as far as the squad is concerned if you look at the quality of the players brought in ( Nastasic is one for the future ) . And standing still is frankly not enough to replicate our domestic success in Europe.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

I think we traded in a Jag (NJD) and bought Fiat (Rodwell). Only lost 12M quid on the deal. Well done Marwood.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

typical city. only city could have a squad that won the league have the richest owner in the world and then completely balls the whole thing up. its fact its what weve done. garcia is crap rodwell is crap sinclair is garbage not even the best winger at swansea nastasic is a kid maicon a has been. de jong andjohnson were 2 very good squad players. ah well citys going down with a billion in the bank

Well hopefully I`ve got someones attention just by merely the thread title.
Yes its true I do believe that Mr.Marwood deserves some praise in helping secure the services of 5 players after receiving some unfair criticism over the past month.
Did we get who we actually wanted ? Did Bobby get his full quota of Players and those Players from his Liist "A" ? No I very much doubt that, seeing and hearing that we lost out on Hazard,De Rossi etc,who allegedley were initially our prime targets.
However reading some of the crap on here, belittling the guy on various fronts, due to losing out on the above two players (and possibly more) its time we settled down and give Marwood a little bit of credit.
Our last two signings appears to help appease those fans who slagged him off,for bringing in Wright,Sinclair and to some extent Maicon, where thge concensus seem to be a bit divided by fellow Blue Mooners at the moment.
We lost Savic and my hero de Jong, with the Club and moreso Marwood again coming under severe criticism for only getting an assumed amount of £3.5M for Nige. That figure came out of the gutter press and last night we heard that the actual fee was anything from £7 -10M instead from James Cooper, another person who came under fire from Blue Mooners for giving us a figure of £16M for the services of Garcia, which looks like it could be correct, with adds ons to come.
I`ve said before this thread, too many people think that Twitter and the Press are the bees-knees of reliable information and when the shit hits the fan and we realise that this isn`t so,Marwood gets it in the neck.
I am NOT discussing his role in the Academy,as I don`t know enough. However,it has been stated before by Khaldoon that His Highness and himself hold BM in esteem for his work carried out in securing transfer targets,or not in some cases, due to circumstances outside of the Clubs remit.
Some Blue Mooners need to realise that Marwood just does NOT go out and buy who he wishes as an individual. This is done with a Committee which also includes Bobby Manc, who will have more than a say on who comes and who stays.
Am I expecting a deluge of fans to agree with me ?? No fucking chance and people will still be of the opinion that Marwood is shite in their eyes.
Come January we start all over again, but with our new CEO now in place, will we see anything different in the way we conduct our transfers and more importantly will Marwood still be dealing directly in this role ?
Who knows, but I for one am relieved that we have bought some class players in this window, not to everones taste I know, but its better than it looked at 8.00am yesterday morning.
Now,let battle commence.Good job my shoulders are as broad as my Guinness waistline and I`ll see anyone for any further debates in the Waldorf this afternoon from 1.15pm onwards or Summerbees from 4.00pm.
You sir are a total idiot

Weaknesses for obviously noticed and attempts were made to rectify them. Instead we in up with the 3rd best swans player and a mid who was unable to reguarly crack the first eleven at everton. k

So did every manager in the league.

Unfortunately 99% have to make do with finding the best talent at the best price and then getting the most out of them individually and as part of a team.......

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

I won't add much to this thread apart from...

Brian Marwood acts on behalf of Khaldoon and the Board. He follows their directions and ensures their wishes are carried out.

Now now Gary, don't go spoiling a good agenda with the truth.

I reckon Marwood might even have chosen the team and system last night,he's that bad.......
