Brian Marwood (merged)

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

Billy is talking far too much sense this season ;)

If Mancini didn't want any of these "so called" Marwood buys then why has he been playing them so much?

It's obvious he wanted RVP and Hazard but so would most managers and you don't always get every target.

Time for Mancini to find a formation/system that gets the best out of the squad instead of moaning about missed targets, tiredness and internationals.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

It's early days in terms of the season and early days in terms of our champions league experience as a club.

Relax sit back and enjoy it will come.

Yes, your hard on for CL, now can you tell me again how BD faired last season in a very easy group?

Same as us. Didn't get through the group stage. They did however retain the Bundesliga against the eventual CL finalists. As you well know, you're making a stupid facile argument to try and score a cheap point. Utterly pointless.

Did you say the same thing about the CL last year? If so, how did your tactics work out?

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

Are things really so dire that we need to be getting carried away with who has and hasn't done there job well?

Surely it's too early to be looking for scapegoats, still in the league, still in the champions league and only 5 months since we won our first league title in 44 years.

And that was with manager, and staff that people are now saying aren't good enough for us and need to be replaced.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

Hold on gents, I've just heard that Marwood, yes, our Brian, is to be named in several studies as a principal cause of global warming AND as a high-level black market arms dealer. Oh, and the leader of the Zetas drug cartel in Mexico.

It seems all so obvious now - how could I have not seen the warning signs, especially with Mancini pointing them out to us in each and every presser?

We won the Prem that contained the CL winners.

Lets retain it and then the CL will be irrelevant. As it was for Dortmund last season.

Am I fuck as like. They came bottom of their group Billy. Bottom of the weakest group in the CL last year.

Now you bemoaned Mancini for failing to get out of (with 10 point, the highest a team has been eliminated at the group stage since 2006) the group last season in a much tougher group. Can you not see why I would find this somewhat hypocritical (god forbid) of you. We have just witnessed one game, it was a one off match, 12 months ago, near enough to the day, we went and scored 6 against Fergie's team. Would you have been saying that proved Mancini a better manager than SAF after that result?

By the way, we managed to win the League, beating the eventual CL finalists (and WINNERS) by 26 points, which kinda negates your point re BD and Munich making the final.

Yesterday proved nothing, we played badly and got a draw.

If you can't see the enormous difference between a team with a manager with a load of CL experience managing a squad with a load of quality and CL experience and a young team with a young manager who had never before managed in the CL or played in it then that is your business.

Dortmund will go further than us in this competition.

If you think last night is a one off or that Dortmund were lucky again that's your business. I've followed them enough in the last few years to not be in the least bit surprised by their performance. They played as they do in the Bundesliga.

Yesterday proved nothing, we played badly and got a draw.

Yesterday proved that quality alone in your team does not guarantee success.
