The Javi Garcia fee speaks volumes about the way in which this transfer window has unfolded for us, and for Brian Marwood. He took a lot of unnecessary stick on here and in public from the manager of all people, so for him to deliver on what the owners wanted and what the manager wanted in the end is the ultimate vindication for him.
You were a near lone voice of reason on his fee yesterday when the handwringers were throwing their toys out of the pram saying Marwood was awful and likely to pay £24m.

LMFAO

Another gem from our resident lunatic.

Why are you laughing your arse off Ms. Myopia?

Or can you not give a reason as your clearly limited reasoning skills have been wasted on thinking about nasty rags?

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

Cheers Brian, can you really impress us and get Silva signed up to a new deal please?

Looks like this will get interesting.......... :-)

Nah, popcorn cat not needed.

People are still talking about agent fees, transfer and the like. I've said previously, I don't care if we sign Messi, it's no reflection on Marwoods performance. Neither is signing noone. Transfers are stupid ways to solely judge somebody

Marwood is in charge of the whole technical side. I don't think we have a world class Academy, or a world class scouting department, or a world class PA team. This is his job. He has made some changes which I think are very, very good. Our player liason teams seem to work wonders, the time it takes new signings to settle in is almost instant, thanks in a large part to this. Our medical department is almost mythically good, thanks to both Mancini and Marwood. He takes credut for these.

I use the word incompetent too flippantly and give credit where credit is due. I also don't give credit where it isn't due. Marwood has done ok. I don't think doing ok is good enough for City. We wouldn't accept Mancini doing just ok, nor would we accept a first team player doing just ok.

All of these people defending Marwood constantly duck this one question.

Is Brian Marwood the best Director of Football in the world? Are there better out there that are available?

If you think he's the best, then fine, as they say it's a game of opinions. I don't. I don't think he is particularly well qualified, nor do I think that his performance in his job has been world class. We could have a better scouting system. We could have a better Academy. We could have a unified football philosophy.

Some would argue that Mancini isn't the best coach in the world - maybe 10 others coaches would have pissed the league but we will never know.

All we know is he hit the objective, winning the Premier League and we thank him for that.

The same should be said of Marwood. Unlike Mancini we don't know what targets he has been set by the Chairman - for all we know he could be held in high esteem. They may also judge we are over-achieving in the timeline of the project.

I have no reason to doubt the leadership of club or their Management Team - they have delivered so far!

This is the only argument that his defenders ever use; he must be doing well or he wouldn't have a job. It's fallacious. Plenty of people who aren't doing well have a job, otherwise they'd have nothing to not do well in.

I can't predict the thoughts of the owner. I can however look at Udineses scouting system and Barcelonas academy and see how we are miles away from them. And ultimately, it's the job of Marwood to have a large part in that.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

I said it in another thread yestersday and I'll say it again.

Marwood is a **** and always will be, he's out of his depth and I look forward to the day that he fucks off.

Thanks Khaldoom

Well done Brian Marwood.

I like it when people make reasoned points and argue their case. In fact I can see both sides of the argument.

What makes me laugh is when some absolute no mark on a fans forum accuses someone of being out of their depth when they've achieved more in their life than the poster could in about 1000 chances, with no foundation or any level of knowledge on the subject matter.

I can't believe you are judging Marwood by comparing City as we are now to these clubs. Our academy is in the process of being rebuilt & the previous one was only good for producing journeymen.

We have a huge project which has barely got off the ground. If it's shit in 10 years, then blame Marwood. Making those comparisons now isn't fair at all.

Re: Well done Brian Marwood.

Wasn't convinced when he was appointed. That said he's not done much wrong for me. Although city should be going all out to get whoever Mancini wants

Do I really need to type out the obvious so that you can understand why I said that?

Everyone I have spoken to, agrees with me that Marwood is shite and out of his depth. Look at the facts and look at what he has done in his role and then I want you to tell me that Marwood is the right man for the job.

Because he isn't and everyone knows it. He will be replaced sooner rather than later and good riddance.

The foundation and reasoning for my post was expressed in another thread last night, so if you're so interested then you can dig it out.
