Bridge is a great player and worth the £15m imo for the experience he is going to bring.

Would rather have Lahm though.

Only problem with Lahm is he is right footed,so he cuts in all the time.we need width and the ability to overlap.

This does show one thing though, despite what they said in the papers about not doing business with us due to the whole Robinho thing, they must need the money a lot more than is being reported right now having sold so quickly.

Your right there skint...........they need to sell to buy hence wanting the deal done quickly!!

Is this a done deal, or still speculation?

Done!

Great signing and much better than Lahm.... In my opinion of course..

Re: bridge £15m

Not worth 15 million but i seriously doubt its anywhere near that.

Re: bridge £15m

At the end of the day - this position is the one we are most desperate to fill.

Its alright saying he is only worth 8 or 10m, but Chelsea would not be interested in selling at 8m, as they will have to go out and buy another left back.

Lets get the deal done and move onto the next one.

Spot on yes. Ball is becoming worse by the week.

Re: bridge £15m

Why are all these 'supposed' done deals not been announced yet??

I put this on the other bridge thread

The facts:

Ball is shyte, Garrido is getting better but not a top6 left back

Bridge is a regular england squad player and excellent crosser of the ball. We're buying a target man who'll crave good crosses

Yes hes prob only worth £7-8m but add the fact its january and add the fact its chelsea thats why we'll pay 30% over the odds

BUT, he will drastically improve an area of the team that is weak and hopefully help ensure the LCB back does not constantly get pulled out of position (as Dunne has been this season)

3-4 weeks to get match fit is better that 3-4 months for an import to settle
