Brighton (A) | Post-Match Thread

Can someone point me to the rule that you can’t commit a dangerous tackle if you’ve got a bent leg ? Or the rule that connecting with a players ankle before the ball is not a penalty?
No need for rules....according to
Wanker-Walton it’s about “Force”

Remember guys and repeat after me (as advised by Peter Walton):

Tackling over knee height with your studs connecting right on the knee when someone is flying in at you at full speed is not dangerous play if your leg is slightly bent.
I bet he wouldn't say that is someone connected with his bollocks with a 'slightly bent' leg.

I am removing the Cancelo thing from this as Cancelo was daft there and yeah 50/50 red.

But the rest of the game.....the trio of "whoever the clown was" in charge of the game making the wrong decision; John Moss highlighting the refs error but going along with the decision; and Peter Walton completely making up on the spot as he goes along to try and justify the full refereeing decision has taken my admiration of the officials to a whole new level. The cynic inside of me thinks that there was a drive to make Brighton win at all costs to prove the value of fans being in the stadium? I am coming across as bitter, and my frustration has 99/100 been felt towards the players for the last 12 months but this was just an unbelievable officiating performance.

Secondly, that was a shower of shite from a third of the team and played knowingly conservative either with the CL final in mind or that the game statistically meant fuck all.

Fair dos to Brighton and fans for having a good day out and party atmousphere, but I am pissed off.
If that was a red we'll finish up playing 5 a side every week.

There’s definitely something g in this. Imagine the odds at 0-1 after a minute and 0-2 early 2nd half?
Look at the penalty not given to Chelsea in the first half. Then look at the one they‘ve just given to make up for it.
Fuckin Potter! More like Voldemort, snidey ****.

WBA Sunday shafted

Fulham tonight shafted

City tonight shafted.

VAR and PGMOL can fuck right off. If the Rags and the Dippers aren't good enough its just too fuckin bad. Don't try and manipulate the results.

Integrity of the League, biggest crock of shite sentence that gets banded about these days but never used when its helping those 2 set of cunts and at our expense.
Apparently VAR has favoured the rags in each of the last 3 seasons, which looks a bit odd, to say the least.

Seems like the table, without VAR, looks like this.

1 #MCFC 83
2 #WHUFC 71
3 #Arsenal 62
4 #THFC 61
5 #LCFC 61
6 #Liverpool 60
7 #Chelsea 58
8 #ManUtd 55
9 #LUFC 55
10 #AVFC 51
11 #Everton 51
12 #Southampton 45
13 #BHAFC 44
14 #WWFC 42
15 #Burnley 40
16 #NUFC 40
17 #CPFC 39
18 #WBAFC 33
19 #Fulham 31
20 #SUFC 15

The commentators pretending to act all surprised when the Jesus pen gets checked by VAR. But squealing like pigs when anything happens in our box. So biased and unprofessional it isn’t true. Just like the officials tonight unfortunately.
Just wait till May 29th. Fletcher, Hoddle and McPointy and a bent Spanish ref.

I don't look at stats mate. He plays every game and we win pretty much every game.

At no point did I compare him to Fernandinho

That's not the checkmate you think it is. He plays in the most dominant possession side in Europe, as long as he's decent enough on the ball and stays fit he's going to get a lot of minutes, especially when his only rival for the position is a 36 year old in the twilight of his career.

And, in a side that steam rolls so many teams, he's not going to get tested much defensively. But when he has, he's often like a traffic cone in a blue shirt.

He's poor in the challenge, his balance is poor, he has little to no athleticism or pace. Positionally he's poor and often doesn't recognise danger until it's too late. He's often out of his feet after an hour and can be seen plodding about while opposition players stride past him with the ball after a little one-two.

So yeah, he's good at shielding the ball and he's reliable enough in possession, unless he's rushed into a decision and pressured on the ball, in which case he'll make the occasional howler. But a Fernandinho replacement he is not.

And I appreciate you didn't mention Fernandinho, but I did. Those are the big boots he needs to fill, and he's clearly not up to it. He's a different player granted, but he's a flawed one and IMO that holding role has to be a key area of reinforcement for us.

You can't rely on him in big games when the margins are tight. And that's not to scapegoat him, it's just blatantly evident on the basis of what we've seen over the course of his time at City.

Decent enough squad option but not a long term answer as far as I'm concerned.

Hate him I truly do.

Mind you with that **** Atwell in charge its a wonder we didn't concede 10 tonight.. Fuck me the only good thing about tonight was that Pep might not put Garcia in the squad again.
He's absolute gash.. I would rather have played with 9 men than Garcia.. Barca are fucking welcome to him
Would rather have seen Scott Carson play right back than Garcia ;)
