Really
Concerned about Dias'' performance again.
He is making some very poor decisions and isn't half the player on the right side of the two, despite it being his natural position. Looks slower to react and put his team-mates in the shit with dodgy passing at times.
It tells me that while Laporte is not doing much wrong, we look much better when Stones is on the right side.
He's fucked and needs a break. Give him a couple of game off and he'll be purring again.Concerned about Dias'' performance again.

Our build up is poorer on the right without Stones, which exacerbates Walker's lack of technique and the ball has to then recycle left, because Dias struggles to move it in to midfield and create the triangle.
It's also why Ederson is struggling at times in possession.
Laporte is able to switch a wonderful crossfield pass out to the right, but he doesn't offer anything else better than Dias can on the left from a defensive standpoint.
Dias is quicker and more alert and because he is naturally a right footed player playing on the left, teams have much more of a problem trying to decide which way the ball is coming out when Stones is also the right-sided defender.
It's just the better partnership and balance for the team.
All the time ha ha. We have conceded 4 goals in 9 games. I must be watching a different game. Maybe he is going to become the latest boo boy.Really sloppy ball in from the wing back to the keeper that they nearly broke in on.
I don't think his passing is any better than Stones, maybe his cross field balls but his passing into midfield no way.
I'd get him out of the side ASAP and get Stones and Dias back together.
Don't think Pep fancies 4 right footers in his back 4 though.

Dias is moving the ball forward (progressive passes) 462 yards per game which is less than Laporte at 533 yards per game. Both higher than Stones who was at 370 yards per games last season.
Learnt a bit from reading that post, cheers for the stats.FWIW Dias short pass (5-15Yds) is c 95% with 145 successful from 152 attempts. He dropped 3 of those passes at Brighton. All 3 of Stones, Dias and Laporte were at 95% last season.
Medium passes (15-30 yards) Dias is a monster - he's made more than any other player in the league this season and a v high compeltion rate of 97.9% with 323 succe3sful from 330.
Long passes (more than 30 yards) he's at 83% completion which compares to Stones last season at 85%. However, Dias making a couple of more passes per game more than Stones did last season.

I know what you mean about the "look" test here and I was surprised at how good Dias appears through the prism of raw numbers. One thing for sure though he is clearly v v good. And reliable. One thing though is the percentages don't take into account the difficulty of the pass. Intuitively Stones is better.
All in here please. A well earned 3 points and a great first half to kill the game.
