Not wishing to speak for them and i might be wrong but I think they were trying to suggest ake took time to adjust, the Ake we have now isn't the Ake we signed. Not that he's been underwhelming for the past 2 years.

If thats what he meant, hes right however using the word underwhelming isn't appropriate, and makes the wrong suggestions. it's people's expectations that every player can just walk into the best side on the planet with a manager entirely unique and get it straight away that needs altering, wete not far off a decade of Pep and people still can't recognise players needs time to adapt even now the overwhelming majority of signings have proven this.

Or play Doku on the right (where he was actually bought to play). He did fine there and it frees up Phil or Bernardo to play centrally.
