Brighton (h) post-match thread

Joleon summed it up saying that Brighton were out passed, had less possession, one shot on target etc. Poor last 20 mins but only by our standards. Zinky must have had a bet on a draw. Poor ref, not sure why a blatant penalty box shove isn’t a penalty nor why a blatant obstruction isn’t a second yellow. Brighton played pretty football but then so did Notts Forest when they were relegated. Clean sheet, three points and on we go. Expect to see some fresh kegs on Sunday with the likes of Ferny, Walker and even Sterling start. Extra pace and freshness against s Palace side who will play in a similar way relying on the likes of Zaha on the break. Expect more of the same.

What I’d give for a fit and firing Sergio.
Not only do we miss him as a team, I really miss watching him!

I’m missing watching Agüero more than I am prime Yaya Zaba Kompany DSilva and Sané combined

Not really sure I get the logic there? Walton works for BT too. The question to Lescott afterwards, I think that was to clarify that it doesn’t matter if VAR thought it was a foul or not as it wasn’t clear and obvious.

There’ll have been Brighton fans wondering it, BT basically backed up the on field ref.
Walton backed the decision by VAR not to rule a "clear and obvious error" but the presenter kept banging on about it being a foul.

3 points was king, but I verbally said ‘Sterling will miss this’ before he hit it. Over £100m for him and Mahrez and the pair of them are mentally weak.

Bring in the statistician who’ll tell me Sterling has scored 900 goals vs lower half opposition, or that Mahrez is first in expected assists in the shadow realm.

Sterling has some resilience, he’s faced a lot of shit from the media. But what I want is for him to take responsibility when it matters and against our top opponents, and he never does.

Onwards and upwards.

Yeah we did look leggy but worth remembering Brighton played on Sunday as well and later than us and their game went to extra time and pens!
Our next opponents Palace (on Sunday) play tomorrow night at 8pm against Arsenal.
Given this and the strength in depth of our squad compared to theirs we've no excuse on the fitness front IMO.
Agreed, just trying to reason why we were so poor that second half. 4 days rest now and a tough game against Palace i feel.
