Brighton (h) post-match thread

We really could do with a proven goal scorer this Month.

Even on loan if necessary.

We simply miss far too many chances in front of Goal.

It could well likely be the difference between success and none this season.

The same players are missing easy chances ,over ,and over again.

It has already cost us in games, and it will do again if we dont do something about it.

Pep always defends his players in public...as he should. I doubt Sterling will tale the next pen unless we’re comfortably leading.
If it was 9-0 I still wouldn't let Sterling near a penalty.
When he stepped up last night I shrieked 'fucking why?', and legged it into the kitchen for more wine (so I didn't have to watch it). Sounds ridiculous but I knew exactly what was going to happen, either a pea roller straight into the keeper's arms down the middle or trickle it wide of the goalie's right post....... my bad, I didn't know he could kick it that high (at least not a static ball anyway).

It would be even better news if we sold him - he was fortunate to play in a very good team 2 years ago and most of his goals were in 6 yard box - now he just fannys around with the ball when clean through - get decent fee for him and sign Haaland
There are at least 2 of the first team squad in front of him for the exit door imho.

Watched the match on BEIN - did anyone catch what Richard Keys was saying about Pep just before the 2nd half kicked off ? Seemed to be having a go at him for something ?
Keys blows hot and cold, usually cold. He tries to play Devil's Advocate but fails to realise what a twat he sounds. Generally he hates anything City. Even Andy Gray is starting to say it like it is and sound semi-interesting.
Think Keys was slagging Pep for his mini spitting. Stupid thing is that when the camera pans onto a player, a snorter the size of Budapest flies out of his gob. Either that or he's blowing his beak all over the grass.

poor penalty. very poor. he needs dropping.

Same with Mahrez, offers nothing atm unless its poor teams.

Brighton played very well, came here for a point.
I have no idea why he took that penalty.

Have watched it over ,and over again ,his posture is shocking.

It is not just a problem with penalties either.

He has consistently shown that if he has time to think about what he has to do next. Then he loses all composure.

No idea why this is.

He can make a great run get in to the Box, then "BOOM" brain Freeze, loses the Ball, dispossessed whilst thinking about what to do next. It happens a lot,9 out of every 10 runs come to nothing and start counter attacks.

Same thing happens if the Ball comes to him in the Box and he has to think about it.Often he panics and just lashes at it.

I wonder does he have problems with anxiety, that affects him.

He should just stick to being a winger.

Hasn't been rubbish for weeks, it's more like months. I've always thought his ball skills are suspect, poor crossing, no defensive tackling, when in possession loses the ball too often. The only asset he had was running at defences with a bit of speed and managing to get through, sometimes by sheer luck. Not worthy of a place in the team unless there is a big improvement. Wonder how he performs in training?
It's not that long since he was everyone's darling.
It's not that long since Gundogan, currently praised to the skies, was being trashed as useless.
Stones, too.
Heyup - it was raining before, now it's stopped.

2nd half we were terrible.
Never seen Jesus play as badly as he did, Rodri shocking tonight too.
Very poor performance.
Rodri's been iffy for the last couple of games. Frightens me to death when he gets the ball in our third.
Usually plays it straight back to where if comes from... unless it comes from the keeper in which case it goes to his right. Very one dimensional.
