True enough, but Pep has pretty much played Sterling from the start every time he has been available for two seasons, even in his worst period of form.

He very rarely picks up injuries of any sort, so still always a surprise not to see him start.

It won't do him any harm to watch from afar.

Pep values fitness so highly. He always praised Otamendi for it, but in the last 12 months he seems to have taken it up another notch. Whenever Sterling's form has been questioned, he's always said that he basically doesn't care because he's fit every 3 days, same with Walker. Now this season when asked to praise Dias and Cancelo for their great form, the very first thing he's said is they're always fit when he needs them to be.

I know he'll probably score a goal or get an assist, or knock in the 5th and 6th goal in a 6-0 win and be MOTM but my heart genuinely sinks every time I see Mahrez in the side and know I'm going to have to watch him fuck about for 90 minutes.
