Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

The only two worrying defeats for me have been Bournemouth and Lisbon , kids out v Spurs and we should at least acknowledge that Brighton are a good side , we put our chances away against the latter and there is no fucking crisis , what the fuck is this place going to be like when Pep actually leaves ? Still 2nd in the league and will progress in the new CL format , chill the fuck out for fucks sake.
That is a very one sided view point, as you completely disregard we was lucky against Fulham, struggled against Brentford, won in the final seconds against Wolves and just pipped Southampton. So whilst you may want to take positives from defeats ( I thought we was good first half yesterday too) you also have to acknowledge that in games we got the points in, we haven't looked convincing in the slightest. Crisis might be a stretch, but you have to go back to the Pearce days for 4 defeats on the spin ( I believe ) so lets not bury our heads in the sand either. Pretending everything is ok is utter delusion, as is anyone thinking the season is done. There is an inbetween.

I wonder about some of the posts on here, we have lost the Ballon d’Or winner for the season, Alverez quit, Bobb got injured pre-season, Kev and Kyle struggling to stay fit in their 30s to cope with workload, Dias, Ake and Akanji, normally the mainstays of our defence, out injured, Gundogan not up to speed and maybe never will, and Phil still getting up to full fitness. Grealish and Doku out too. There is an argument to suggest we should have a bigger squad, but this is a uniquely challenging situation, so little wonder we are struggling to stay SECOND FFS!

John Stones struggling for fitness too.

And given the names you've mentioned, anyone who thinks a bigger squad would help plays too much Football Manager.

Does the number of years matter? Everyone has to start somewhere.

I was a Chelsea fan because I have Russian parents and there was a Russian connection with Abramovic, so I gravitated towards them but I started getting tired of Chelsea around 2021, despite the Champions Leaue win. I've always liked Grealish, then when he signed for City I decided to switch.

I was a little hasty yesterday. I will keep supporting city. I'm city through and through.
That's the spirit:-)

I don’t play FM but I have advocated for a bigger squad for this season since the summer and I’m pretty effin’ sure I it would have helped but the additions have to be high quality.

We were always facing the potential issue of strain on many of the players from so many high pressure games over the last few seasons taking its toll and it appears to have done so big time.

We also still have the potential for a record number of games this season and sod all pre-season next summer.

We have to start transitioning away from some fantastic servants, who deserve not to be forced out of the club.

Expanding the squad on a short-term basis has a logic to it and fuck all to do with FM.

The worry for me was that Kev looked scared and I think he may realise himself that his race is run.
Watching yesterday's game I though to myself we are beginning to resemble the Rags. Can play alright for 15 or 20 minutes and then decend into the abyss for the rest of the game.
Let's hope this is not going to happen, the next series of games before the New Year will be crucial. With respect to the league and our ability to win it, I am feeling a bit like Kamala Harris must have felt at midnight last Tuesday.
No she is more like the Rags. She spent more than a billion, won fuck all and now in major debt!!

When Pep leaves I'll still be expecting us to be contenders for everything. As long as the club return to building a first rate squad there are plenty of good managers that will do well...
