Alvarez's work rate was extremely underrated. Unfortunately Bernardo's work rate has also dropped off.

4-5 seasons ago Bernardo was covering more distance on the pitch per game than anyone else in the premier league. Is he doing that now? Or has it dropped off....
 
I wouldn't call Julian Alavrez prolific. There were flashes of real qualitiy but didn't seem he could nail a regular place although he could be a useful squad player. He is not quite clicking at Atletico Madrid.
 
All four central defenders injured and a few players who have to play while not 100%, plus having to play a kid and Rico ( who I don't think will make it as a defender) in defence. No Rodri as well. No wonder teams are waltzing through us.
The fact we desperately need bodies back is an understatement. Get our first choice back four playing and hopefully Phil and Gundo find some form, then Kev back and we might start winning again. Hopefully we're not too far from Liverpool by then, though I think this season is a step too far for us.

As for Brighton where do they keep on finding these players from? We need to steal their scouts.

It wasn't great, but we seem to have noone doing the dirty work at the moment. The worrying thing today was that Foden was not putting any work in. If he feels above himself then it is a worry. If he feels disinterested then it is a worry. If he is injured or fatigued than that is okay and just needs a kick up the ass.

... and then break into their transfer targets via their computer systems. We should ask the Dippers to help us out.

Brighton use a "moneyball" kind of acquisition system, it's what their Chairman uses in his betting business using clever algorithms and data, he's a snake but an extremely clever reptile.

Brighton are not Europe centric when it comes to signing players as we're not but they do seem to find some gems at relatively low transfer fees and they've sold players at seriously significantly good money, they've invested well and have a decent squad.

I really rated Momoto (sp?) today but it is hard to judge as Walker was baby sitting Pusey at the same time.

Agreed. We are ravaged by injuries. It only took a couple for Arsenal to stutter. Last season Liverpool were struggling if I remember correctly. Ake, Akanji, Stones, Dias, Rodri Grealish, Bobb etc today. Missing Rodri is huge but all four centre halves as well!

I don’t think he’s shite but his end product is terrible. His build up play was exceptional but Haaland was there for a couple of balls and the chance he had was an absolute sitter, he was one on one about 7 yards out, he should not be missing those chances. Mahrez wouldn’t have.
 
It’s only 1 season. Changes will be made to rectify the situation.

Pep and the board must know the problems. Mainly that a lot of our players ain’t good enough anymore. It’s sad to say but a reality with age and winning so much.

We look second best all over the pitch. No drive or athleticism. Opened up time and time again.

The unprecedented success has its pitfalls.

I’m done slagging anyone off, cool heads needed to make the best decisions for the club.

We all need to stick together. The coach and players have given us the most amazing memories. The fall off should have happened last season but the stubborn shits wouldn’t let up well now it is happening.

Let’s hope we can try and get a settled team back on the pitch after the break.

Mitoma, yep, Walker was getting dragged into CD instead of patrolling his RB position to stop their supply line, think Pusey is a future talent but at just 18 not quite good enough just yet but I'm not criticising him, think he has immense talent.
 
I don't know, I just feel alright about it. I'm certainly not here to lecture anyone who is upset or disappointed by the way we've been playing this season, especially because I have felt exactly the same in other recent bad patches of form, but something feels different to me this time. It's 50 per cent the feeling that we might still win the league anyway and 50 per cent the feeling that maybe we were overdue a shit season to really reignite things. We're currently enduring shit seasons at no more than half the rate of any other club in England.

Last time we had a shit season we went on to win four league titles in a row, and it's still too early to say that this season will definitely be another shit season. Or maybe I've just been spoiled by the team's endless wins and am fully prepared for a bad spell.

I can't really articulate it but this time, even though it is literally the first time Pep has ever lost four matches in a row, I've found it easier than ever before to just brush off a City loss and move on with my day. For most of my life a City loss would ruin my weekend. As you can imagine, it made Sunday school in the early noughties very difficult.

Again, I'm not trying to belittle or criticise anyone who is complaining or be a 'happy clapper' or anything like that, I can only say how I feel, which is that for me personally I'm not too worried. I think Pep will work it out, we'll end the season no lower than second in the league and that we'll ultimately still have a much better time than at least 75 of the other fanbases in the top four leagues. It'll be alright on the night, essentially.
