Brighton & Hove Albion (A) | Post Match Thread

I must have missed that chance as my Iptv stalled for a few mins. He was fucking awful all the game. I know people don’t want to hear this, but he’s not the answer.
It’s only the 1 game, but he wasn’t great today at any point, even when we were on top of things first half. Trafford did really well with his saves, on the plus side for our younger players.

Pep’s finished. I hope he walks and takes haaland with him. It’s like a man short with an overthinking manager. All the but but but lads can fuck off.

We are all hurting after the last 2 games - we all much anticipation of a younger, fitter side determined to start fast and lay down a marker this season & that has already been thrown away.

It's really hard to put a finger on what has gone so wrong. The older players who Pep relies on Bernie & Dias for example have followed others who fell off a cliff form and physicality wise. The new signings have quickly fallen into being literally frightened to express themselves. The younger squad players Lewis, O'Reilly, Bobb who are now being told they have to step up look lost in terms of positioning on the pitch. The shape of the team is terrible - zero attempts after min 34 is so bad.

Today we give a pen away because we have a player who does not want to get hit in the face - what we should have done is keep shape at the back and take the draw - instead what they did was run aimlessly into forward positions - Ruben, Air-Noiri (who frankly looks incapable of making a tackle) and Lewis all should have remained in shape - John lost the possession and suddenly it was 3 v's 1 so of course they get the winner. Where the f*** was Lewis again? Playing with himself in their half!!

The above is all about 2 things, coaching and an individuals commitment to the cause. It seems to me that Pep is at odds with the transfer planning and squad trimming by the higher ups. Perhaps I'm wrong and this maybe an over reaction but whichever way you look at it something is terribly wrong with the fact that we have lost 2 games because we didn't compete on a fitness and commitment level. Christ it's not as if they were 2 teams who are flying - Spurs and Brighton will not be in the top 6 this year but both made us look very average when they suddenly decided "hey, these are not that great lets just press a bit and they will panic."

For me the only good thing today was our keeper made a world class save and that will be forgotten because his defenders couldn't do their jobs when Brighton went more physical. I felt sorry for Trafford because he did well & now we will hear calls that it's all about how the keeper plays the ball out again - no Pep it's tactics that other managers have sussed out and the fact remains in any sport you work harder than the opposition and you more often than not win.

I'm officially depressed.

That's utter rubbish. We were dominating the game and switched off

Dominating lol

Dominating teams is putting a few goal cushion between you and opponents

Dominating games isn't padding posession percentage stats by passing sideways and creating very little.

Watch the games, not the stat pop ups on the bottom of the screen.

He did his own version of Haalands celebration to take the piss Eccles! Horrid little man he is.
*fuming* well he definitely is not an ex-blue who will get the cheer when he comes back.
He's just playing these days so that he can get a record for being the oldest player to play or something along those lines. Disgraceful and horrid little man is the right description for him as well.

No idea how long Rodri has left on his contract but can’t see him hanging around for long if that’s our new standard .

Absolutely clueless and boring to watch. Zero pace, zero power, lightweight rubbish. Every single player we've signed in the last 18 months has been a massive downgrade. The academy lads are nowhere near good enough either. This squad won't be winning anything. Won't even get anywhere close.
We’ve sold the best academy lads

Keep thinking that if it takes that to make you feel better - we are MILES off it - not even close

2 right backs needed - one or two centre halves needed

left back who cares wouldnt go a miss as well

and thats before you get to central midfield and the wide players (who are not wide players but cnetral attackers who areall being forced to play outwide)
Ye let's write our LB off after 2 and half games, bwahahaha.

Unbelievable.

I'm logging off.

Ill just say....Some of our fans need to remember where we came from. Can't always be the best, great players age and leave, new ones arrive and need time. It's 3 fucking games in and you'd think we've already been relegated.

Its absolutely laughable.

Have a great Sunday, I know I will. Win or lose have a booze CTIFD

This continuing trend, which started immediately after the last title win with the loss to Utd in the FA Cup final, went on throughout most of last season, through the CWC and now into this season suggests that our ‘era’ is over. We should not make the mistake of compounding what are now systematic flaws by sticking with the same formation, tactics, players and even the manager for too long. This isn’t just a ‘bad day at the office’ or even a bad season anymore. It has the look of terminal decline.
