Bring the Noise

I made the mistake of committting to the bus and watched a near empty tram stop at Clayton Hall.

My days of running are long gone.

We get to bus stations now and the famous words of "Have I got time for the toilet" from her indoors before she's on her way there and a bus rolls in and rolls out.

:)

Atmosphere was more than decent on our end.

Their fans were diabolical and im not just laying into them for the sake of it, i will admit they do generally bring a loud following as you'd expect for a derby but their section today near me at least was full of day trippers and completely devoid of any passion Which did probably dampen our own response to them.
Louder than us before the game and much of first half to be fair - I was to the right of them near the corner flag, most City fans around me didn't sing back just laughed at them and conducted their singing...we woke up a little second half...but just replay any derby at Maine Road ....sadly those days / times are long gone

Whoever asked for the speakers to be turned off, good idea but don’t bother in future as if it wasn’t for the north stand / family stand pulling you out of the shit it would have been very embarrassing. Just my opinion from where I sit.
To be fair to those at the south end of the ground, this is a common problem. There were about 5 different songs going on at once all over that area and none of them could hear each other at that time. Fair play to the north stand end though, they produced most of the atmosphere in the first half. This is of course why we need the new end to be an atmosphere end. The noise made there isn't drowned out by oppoisition fans or lost into the wind.

The north stand started a lot of the stadium wide chants, from where I was sat. It was mainly city classics that everyone knew the words to.

There was a large group stood up towards the back. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come with the new north stand expansion

Really, you think they generally bring a loud following to the Etihad? I think they’ve been really poor for a minimum of four years. I’ve been wondering if they have the problem with tickets going to corporate etc that we have had at Anfield / Tottenham etc. as their away end has been that poor each time.

I generally think they have one of the better sets of away fans, although you're right it's been a good few years since they've shown up to the Etihad.

I rekon you're right about them having the same issues regarding corporate taking a larger slice of the cake for these more attractive fixtures.

I heard them chant United, United, and Knick-knack-paddy-whack on the SSL1 away end during the match. That was about it, I think?

Louder ? Hardly heard anything from them !!

Seemed a great atmosphere at times today

The early leavers when 3-0 up against the rags on a Sunday evening were the only negative. Half empty for team walking round at the end
I didn't go but watched on tv and looking at stands most was still full at full-time, of course there was a few seats empty but not that many

The SL3 away end with over 1000 away fans in it, and it's elevated position will always make a noise. Whereas the SL1 away end hardly ever makes a noise.

On TV, the U.S. commentary made mention of the Colin Bell Stand bouncing during the Poznan!

Also, it feels like there should be a “Poznan trigger” so everyone understands when it should come out.

I’m thinking a 3rd goal when it puts us at least 2 up on the opposition (3-0, 3-1) and ANY goal at Wembley!!!

Feyenoord ! I’ll never forget that night …….
