Bring the Noise

Interesting tonight.

I was in 111 instead of 115, close to the Madrid fans.

111,110, and 109 were pretty decent tonight. Apart from a few chants that came over, I couldn’t hear SSL1 much, even though I could see SSL1 singing. The Madrid fans drowned out any chanting and noise that was coming from SSL1. Not because they were overly loud, but because they were in our left ears in 111 and 110. I don’t know about 109. The Madrid fans, and probably most away fans, act like a noise barrier/wall. We’ve posted it many times. The Etihad really is weird when it comes to acoustics and noise coming from different parts of the stadium, that other parts of the stadium can’t hear. I couldn’t hear SSL3 at all.
I’d say 111 and that area has been the loudest part area of the ground this season. 115 and to the right seem quieter to me (looks like it’s mainly the lads/lassess at the back singing)

Despite the disappointment of the result, that was one of my most enjoyable home CL games last night. The atmosphere was fantastic in the main, and even the red card and pen didn’t stop fans going for it. Every stand chipped in and did their bit and I don’t just mean with the singing either - just by actively getting involved in any way helps.

I think stopping serving beer 15 minutes before kick-off helped get more fans to their seats early. I’ve been calling for this for a while since I noticed it at Anfield last season. I appreciate it’s a controversial move but as someone who has been as guilty as anyone down the years for cramming in that extra beer before kick-off, it’s the right call IMO. I’m not sure the club will start doing it for every match but I’d like to see them do it against Liverpool in the FA Cup - with that game being an early kick-off, it might not be as raucous at the start as it normally is against them so any moves that help get fans to their seats a bit earlier could be crucial in getting fans up for it from the off.

I'm so tired of the club. Alienated the next generation and season tickets in favour of a quick buck The home end. The family stand..
Season ticket holders and long time members had ample opportunity to buy tickets.

They may have been "alienated", but without the fans you show a photo of, the ground would be half empty. A lot of it is apathy as well as alienation.

That is the young generation. Every young person has a mobile phone and video everything. I was there last night and it was seriously loud until Real Madrid scored.

You are an idiot if you choose to highlight that. The support last night was excellent.

I wouldn’t say it was that common or normal for younger city fans to video the away team scoring or celebrating goals.

I agree the support was excellent.

I walked past one of the fan support huts last night hoping to put my brother and nephews names down for season tickets but they said City would be contacting City members soon. They should have opened a season ticket waiting list when the new stand went up because I don't think they will sell 4,000 season ticket holders by closed invitation.

We can criticise the club without criticising match-going fans.

I don't think it's unusual for younger fans to video Vinicius Junior celebrating a goal in front of them. If you scan images you can find what you want and tell the story you want. It's sad that some people have this agenda especially after a night when City's support showed up and did what they are supposed to do.

The tickets don't get sold at a fair price or made accessible to a member. They disguise it as resell it to a 3rd party site with no membership required making sky high profit. I can't buy l1 or l2 for Arsenal. But I can go on my works portal and pick any block for £800. Do you not think that's an issue? Yeah I can pick £70 the back of L3 so I should just suck it up because that's what the club wants. Sod that

Three clowns in front of me all took videos of the penalty and then got upset when I asked what the fuck were they doing.
Block was full of people I didn't recognise and it concerns me that so many ST holders ignore the competition that the club prioritises.
but we'd have a half empty stadium without them..not great optics for top players (and more inportantly their agents). The meeja spin re Liverpool being 'incredible' helps twist ignorant agents heads ..it really does help..half empty stands..meeja would love it, and we'd have a tougher time all round..as well the much needed revenue

It's called finance, not every season ticket holder can afford it, I was there last night on the cups scheme, but will not be on the schemes next season as my finances as a pensioner dictate it. So if I concern you tough shit

Best atmosphere for a long, long time last night. Maybe we all felt needed?

You don't concern me at all as an individual. It's the many thousands as a group that can't be arsed with the competition that the club prioritises that causes concern.

As a family, with the 3 and now 2 season tickets we've missed very few home games in all competitions since the ground opened. We've sat in the same place since beating barcelona 2-1 in that friendly.

From next season we are no longer bothering with UCL games, not because we can't afford it, but because its just not the same any more.

Rather the same crowd of people we sit around in the PL, and domestic cups

As much as people complain about CL nights, if I sat and thout about the best 10 atmospheres of the last few years there would be a fair few that were Cl games at leat 3 of which that ended with us knocked out.:)

They did have ample opportunity to buy tickets it's very telling why they don't.

I'd rather the ground be empty than full of people who have no interest in us and who would much rather get a photo for their socials.

I had a guy in front of me in the family stand who stood up every time Madrid attacked and spent most of the match facetiming his mate.
