So, if a party supports us all moving to the Moon without oxygen but are "Working Class" then you would vote for them?

New Labour are NOT Socialist.

They have done some things that I agree with and welcome (National Minimum Wage, The Irish agreement to name but two) but I could never agree with their stance on massive immigration (which was ridiculous, and I had to deal with it on the front line. And I was one of the moderates on that one), their determination to draw us into a War that we had no right to be in, their complete SLEAZE with the expenses matters (where they completely seemed to forget us, the "working class") and finally, the sheer arrogance from Day One. Oh, and the determination to scrap Clause 4 (probably the first thing that showed this party were never Socialists).
.
They will never be Socialists. They are Tory lite.

And that is why they were elected in 1997.

And why they have fallen now.

No. I wouldn't vote for them but I wouldn't run to the tories either!

When City lose I don't go to Old Trafford. When my girlfriend pisses me off I don't go and shag her sister.

Politics is about more than party politics, it's about how a human conducts themselves.

New Labour are/were a joke. I agree. However, give me 'left wing lite' over the return of Thatcherism anyday.

Thatcher is not an element in this at all. Cameron is probably farther away than that than Blair was tbh.

I think at this moment in time it is about stability for the country. That is why I would be content to see a Lib/Con pact.

Any pact that has just two main parties rather than six or seven has to be better.

However, whoever gets in faces an uphill battle.

Re: Brown to stand down

I've said it before on here, but it's true so I'll say it again... some of you lot need to get that huge fcuking chip off your shoulder. Half of you would vote for a turd if it had a red rosette pinned to it.

I work fucking hard and have done for years. I support my family and I give back to the society I live in. You know what this Labour government has done for me and for those in the same boat as me... FUCK ALL. Yet I still here people banging on about Labour being the party for the working class. FFS, get your head out from up your arses & wake up.

What do you expect the tories to do to improve your life?

You are unhappy with the shackles of capitalism, not a labour government.

Capitalism is a false promise. It's hollow, empty, devoid of meaning or truth. It renders the subjective objective and results in man becoming little more than a machine programmed to do 2 things - consume and produce.

Personally, I am better than that and from what I know of you, I think you are too.

Re: Brown to stand down

History won't be kind to Brown, but I predict that half the Labour traitors who voted Conservative will soon start liking Brown again. He'll be more relaxed and allowed to be himself, instead of just a marketing tool for Count Mandelson.

He'll be doing genuine good work for people that Tony Bliar wouldn't piss on and he'll be a better husband and father. Don't hate Brown, he's a decent man. You'll see.

You have to remember that most on here hate Labour for leading us to war, the same people hate the taliban and also seem oblivious to the fact that we were at war with Iraq 6 years before New Labour were even invented.

Sorry mate, but I think capitalism, as flawed as it is, is still the best way.

I genuinely believe the Conservatives are a better option than Labour. Why? Because social irresponsibility has become the norm under Labour. Because people feel as they they are owed something (you're fcuking not - earn it!). Because my lad is going to be paying for the mess the twats have got us into for years to come. He shouldn't have to, none of this mess is his doing.

I am fucking angry about what's happened over the last few years. As a country we have been let down on a terrible scale, yet because people can't accept that sometimes people happen to be born more fortunate than them, we still have those who, as I say, would vote for a shit turd if it was a Labour turd.

Are these the same people who have been brainwashed into thinking that Gordon Brown is responsible for the global recession?

Eh? I don't actually hate anyone, what I want is what is best for the country as a whole, now you may think that bankrupting the country is OK, but I beg to differ, you may also like the draconian powers that the current Labour government has passed, I prefer my civil liberties.

You may think that it's OK taxing the ordinary working man to the hilt, again I think it's wrong. I want buisiness to be free from the dead hand of government.

I want to be able to vote on electoral reform, but I guess you think it's OK to force it on the people, I want the party who won most votes and most seats to form the government, now I guess what the majority have voted for does not matter to you, as long as you get what you want, and they said the Tories are selfish!

Are you one of the people that think giving billions of taxpayers money to the bankers, who then gave themselves big bonuses, equates to being a Socialist voter?
