An Under 21 player is defined as one who is under the age of 21 on 1st January in the year in which the season commences.

So next season starts later this year, any players that turn 21 during this calendar year don't need to be included. So Nastasic and Zuculini won't count until the season after next.

I'm under the impression that his contract was running out and due to the financial troubles of Racing we offered to pay a few million as a solidarity agreement to ensure good a working relationship in the future

That only applies to the PL squad, he would need to be registered in the 25-man A list to be eligible for the CL next season.

Although happily next season we won't have to include Nastasic, whereas the last 2 seasons we did have to.
