BT Sport about to snatch the CL off Sky/ITV?

The Prem is the Golden Goose which lays the golden eggs. Most neutrals are only arsed about the knockout stages of CL anyway, and the only fans who'll be truly bothered are those whose team actually qualifies for the Champions League.

Before we qualified, I'd only go out of my way to watch Arsenal in the Champions League because I detested ManUre & The Chavs so much. The Red Dippers style of play didn't excite me in any way so I could take them or leave them.

BT comes bundled in with the Virgin XL package anyway and you get their HD channels for that too as opposed to Sky HD being extra. Whichver way you look at it, free top level live football has all but gone anyway & its been going this way for years whilst we've all just mostly sat back and accepted it.

I think its brilliant that BT have the rights to the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE . ThIs will piss Rupert off . He might start thinking of just doing darts from now on .

I think BT sports will sell the rights to one game a gameweek to terrestrial TV, it would be very good for business in my opinion and paint a picture of a caring company. They are going to be free anyway so won't matter to them who shows it. Sky have been greedy bastards for far too long, they charge pubs an extortionate amount and drive up prices on a yearly basis.

I hope BT do not fall for the same trap as Sky did and see £££s instead of real customers. We care for football in this country and the TV providers should care for us as wet as that sounds!

I think there's a long way to go before we know who should be feeling smug and who shouldn't. BT have a history of screwing cash out of its customers, and every time I compare their rates against Sky and VM, they always come out more expensive. I expect that the days of totally-free BT Sport in the XL pack may be numbered after this news.
