I think the doom and gloom is way over the top

but we did a very speedy signing up of Barry and people wanting more deals with the barry deal wetting the appetite

add this to the fact that Madrid are spending silly money very quickly and a couple of other deal have gone through at other club.

add this to the doom merchants winding every other poster up with the "Tevez to Scum our deal is screwed" type comment

I guess that a lot of poster are seeing the above and are starting to think we've missed the boat.

I just cant understand how RM can have a new gaffer a week there skint and within 48 hours can sighn 2 of the biggest names in world football [and i think Barry is a briliant buy]
If money talks we should be well heard if Tevez is to join us dont you think it should be sorted by now RM had no probs with kaka just seams we have to make it hard work as usual

There are several reasons why - even if it is a done deal - it would not be announced yet:

He is still officially on loan until 30th June

He played in the CL final and then went off for internationals and was clear that he would not be distracted by talks - so there would be personal terms to discuss

There could be all sorts of issues in the commercial terms of closing a deal with an owner rather than a club

Given all the furore of his time at WHU - CITY would want to be very careful of all regulations etc

We may just be being very professional and if I was the Sheik I would prefer that when people spend my money


Then again things could all change due to the tranny news - but why do so many enjoy the depressive side of the coin

tell me how many top flight clubs are there in europe and how many transfer deals have been completed thus far ? its very early days yet, just calm down and accept that we the fans cannot and will not affect what happens. The time to take stock is 1st September, not now because people are impatient ffs.

This may come across as personal but its not Spanishblue. My response is aimed at all of the posters who are screaming "Sign someone now, its just not good enough!"

I am as calm about this as can be but i fear a lot of people on here are going to be very disappointed we are not going to land the kind of player they expect
It is possible that Barry will be our best buy i would love to see Crouch here some may laugh but it is going to be a long road
and prem proven players are the way forward
So if money talks lets put in a 160mill bid in for Tores and Gerrard liverpool are skint [tongue in cheek]
I know its early days but with effort it can be done RM
