Budget 2024

All the signs say they’re going to jack up tax on dividends, which will make me poorer.
I think that’s highly likely.

To be honest I think there’s a not insignificant chance that the whole thing goes down like a lead balloon, with both the public and the markets, and that the government spends the next few months hinting at some measures being watered down or reversed entirely.

The cock-up with the freeport announcement - when they spent three days defending a policy which wasn’t actually included in the Budget - doesn’t exactly fill me with confidence that they’re fully on the ball.

It’s an expensive business though given what’s happening with gilt yields, and if they fail to assure regarding the chance to the fiscal framework then the pressure really will be on.

I suppose it depends on how poor one is to start with and what you lose. I would expect in these troubling times everyone in a household doing okay will be poorer to some extent. I'm happy with that but broadest shoulders etc...... should be the priority and those struggling should not be getting hit at all.

I refuse to be told I need to bear some financial burden by a highly paid politician on several times my income who can't even be arsed buying their own clothes.

It's fucking outrageous - and I support(ed) them!

Labour in name only mate.

Long gave up my membership, and I despair at those who pretend to justify decisions being made as they supported them.

It doesn’t make sense.

They’re pissing off people of the Labour left, and now pissing off people to the Labour right, such a myself.

Who exactly is their constituency now? They ran a good election campaign but it’s been a shit show since they took office.

Don't think the campaign was that great to be honest, not Blair-esc like 97 in the slightest.

Campaigned on "Change" which was vague to say the least.

Now we have these frustrating sound bites of "Fix the Foundations" and "Black Hole" whilst ignoring everyones real problems. They are so far away from what the Labour party was set up to do its unreal.
