Bulb Energy Doubled Direct Debits.

So I'm currently with Bulb. I am aware they're increasing me from £90 per month to £150 per month in February. So what you're all saying is that it's expected to double to £300 per month in April? If so our population of low earners, those retired and the younger element just getting on the housing ladder are fucked.

Read my post on page 3,why are you people paying all that money unbelievable.

Strangely enough very little of our gas comes from Russia the EU on the other hand relay heavily on them, of course if they we're to cut off supplies then it would be a bidding war for gas so prices would leap again, such is the folly of not exploiting the resources in our country.
We don’t even store it anymore which would be a buffer against fluctuating prices. I remember gasometers everywhere, alas not anymore. Progress I suppose…..

I pay £85 a month but they recenly suggesred I could probably reduce it to £70 and stay well in credit

It's bad I know that but the people who have experienced a huge price rise over the last months shouldn't expect a doubling effect in April. That will be the people coming to the end of their cheap tariffs again. The chart below shows where £1277 avg spend goes in 2022. so even if the price per therm doubles you'd get a maximum jump to £1800 still a big jump but not doubling as suggested. The government can and should reduce the taxes to remain the same amount paid as 2022 to soften the blow unless they fancy crippling millions of families crashing the housing market and economy (They are tories though)

I am worried about this. Mine has gone up significantly already and come April it looks like everyone's will double. Plus NI goes up then too.
Boris will be all too glad to go when all this kicks in.
Those who are mortgaged up to the tits will feel it badly and how low income families wil manage is anyone's guess.
Bad times ahead. If energy prices globally stabilise or drop eventually, you can be sure customer prices and DDs never will.
At least we’ve got Brexit!!

Unfortunately those of us with Bulb have been advised by Martin Lewis (MSE) to sit tight till April. Prior to going into administration Bulb were very competitive and "green".
I pay £33 with bulb. I then get a bill telling me I’m in deficit so I pay the difference. They’ve ‘suggested’ I pay more but I’m more than happy to keep things as they are.
