Hopefully Blues will take notice of this thread.

As Posters are pointing out. All energy is going to be horrendously priced from April. We need to take action where we can, To try and reduce what we pay.

God help us if we go to war with Russia.

We will all stood outside B & M in long queues for Bags of Logs :-)

Or Cutting up dinning furniture,

We don’t even store it anymore which would be a buffer against fluctuating prices. I remember gasometers everywhere, alas not anymore. Progress I suppose…..

Don't understand why people pay up front, I'm with utility warehouse for both every 3 months I take my readings phone them in then they send me a bill and take it out of my bank 2 weeks later been with them for 8 years and bill's always spot on.My last bill for 3 months was £152.

Yes but when prices double your same 3 month bill will be £300. Makes no odds if you pay it before or after

A direct debit is an agreement between both parties. If they increase it without your permission your bank can claim it back. If you are in credit why pay more?
I am in dispute with Ovo and they threatened to triple my payment, I simply told them I would claim it all back if they did that ..... so they didn't. !!

Currently pay SSE £59 a month for Electric and £61 for gas.

They recently put it up a fiver on my fixed tarrif until 2023 and said to absorb the expected rises.

I pay £115 dual they now want me to switch tariff to £327 WOWZA

Staying on standard till April then we will all be smashed

On the back of this thread I thought I’d be a bit more cost conscious. Thermostat down to 19 and turned heating off at 9.30pm. Saved 50p but gone to bed with ice cold finger tips and absolutely freezing. Not sure it was worth it !
